SITEC provides support services as required for continuous operation of the Software Support Activity Software Production Facilities including complete lifecycle services for our customers platforms.
Mid-Level to Senior-Level
SITEC Consulting is seeking an experienced Windows / Linux / VMware Systems Administrator to support a government software hosting environment. This position provides systems engineering, administration, virtualization, cybersecurity, and infrastructure support for mission-critical information systems.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering Windows or Linux environments, maintaining VMware infrastructure, supporting Risk Management Framework compliance activities, and securing systems in accordance with Department of Defense requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain engineering solutions for complex and unique technical requirements within a government software hosting facility.
  • Deploy, configure, administer, and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure, including servers, virtual machines, containers, workstations, and supporting IT equipment.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and performance optimization across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Administer and troubleshoot VMware virtualization infrastructure and virtual networking environments.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, operating system, software, networking, and application-related issues.
  • Manage Active Directory user accounts, groups, permissions, authentication, and access controls.
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise software applications.
  • Develop, maintain, and test system backup, restoration, continuity, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Secure information systems and applications in accordance with current Department of Defense cybersecurity guidance.
  • Support Risk Management Framework compliance activities, including vulnerability scanning, Security Technical Implementation Guide implementation, remediation, evidence collection, and continuous monitoring.
  • Maintain system configuration baselines and security posture through routine security reviews, event monitoring, reporting, and corrective actions.
  • Provide networking support for on-premises infrastructure, including physical and virtual network components.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, architecture information, standard operating procedures, knowledge-base articles, incident response actions, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Provide responsive technical support and guidance to customers, system owners, developers, and other technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in Agile project planning, sprint activities, technical discussions, and infrastructure modernization initiatives.
  • Mentor junior administrators and provide technical leadership, as appropriate for the candidate's experience level.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. An interim Top Secret clearance may be required to begin work.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Mid-level candidates should possess approximately 5 or more years of relevant systems administration or infrastructure experience.
  • Senior-level candidates should possess approximately 8 or more years of relevant systems administration or infrastructure experience.
  • Demonstrated experience administering Windows Server or Linux operating systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience supporting VMware virtualization technologies and virtual infrastructure.
  • Hands-on Risk Management Framework compliance experience, including vulnerability scanning, STIG implementation, security remediation, and continuous monitoring.
  • Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting physical and virtual servers.
  • Working knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, system backups, access controls, and information system security.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification or another DoD 8140/8570-compliant certification appropriate for the position.
  • Current Windows, Linux, VMware, or other relevant operating system certification.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, or related virtualization technologies.
  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, Windows Server, or mixed operating system environments.
  • Experience with virtual networking, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and firewall concepts.
  • Experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, user permissions, and identity management services.
  • Experience deploying and managing containers using Docker, Kubernetes, Podman, or similar technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise backup, restoration, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Familiarity with ACAS, Nessus, SCAP, STIG Viewer, eMASS, or similar cybersecurity and compliance tools.
  • Experience supporting classified or controlled government information systems.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation technologies such as PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, or Python.
  • Experience working in Agile or DevSecOps environments.
  • Strong technical documentation, troubleshooting, customer service, and communication skills.
