This role will support high-volume, high-complexity government and commercial contracts requiring strong attention to detail, independent problem solving, and collaboration across Billing, Finance, Contracts, Project Management, and Claims teams.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime and/or weekend coverage.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Utilize multiple reports to ensure the accuracy of billing transactions
  • Assist with invoice preparation and reconciliation of billing to A/R; Monitor outstanding A/R balances and take appropriate action
  • Provide input to policies, systems, and procedures for effective control of billing
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports
  • Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close
  • Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
  • Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position
  • Assist with or lead the month-end/quarter-end close process for assigned businesses or groups

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 1 years of billing experience, within Government contracting or a similar industry
  • Experience supporting complex billing, accounting, or revenue-related functions
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel as well as proficiency in other Office applications
  • Analytical and reconciliation skills within ERP/accounting systems (Deltek Costpoint experience preferred)
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial statements
  • Ability to independently research and resolve financial discrepancies across cross-functional teams
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with contract types: cost-reimbursable, fixed-price, time and materials
  • Experience in supporting internal and external audits related to Government contracts
  • Familiarity with supporting budget analysis, forecasting, and reporting within Government contracts

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
