Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Sales Engineer supports the Sales Department by providing pre/post-sales technical support to target channel partners, direct sales, account management and wholesale clients. The Senior Sales Engineer will function as a technical liaison for channel partners, direct sales, account management, and wholesale clients. The Senior Sales Engineer will provide expert consulting, design and engineering of all voice, network access, managed Wifi, Security as a Service, SD-WAN and complex sales solutions. The Senior Sales Engineer is also responsible to manage a queue of all new business proposals to ensure all RFPs include the proper CPE per the outlined solution.

The Senior Sales Engineer reports directly to the Manager, Sales Engineering.

There are no direct reports to this position.

The Senior Sales Engineer interfaces with the following key personnel within the Company, though is not limited by this list: Sales, Service Delivery, Network Operations Engineering, Account Management, Sales Engineering and Sales Support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Senior Sales Engineer is accountable for

  • Demonstrate and apply an advanced level of product knowledge when working with customers and partners.
  • Assist sales personnel, engineering team and external partners to approve proposals for sales opportunities.
  • Gather and analyze data and author design of potential solutions that are relevant, valued and compelling to the client while being profitable for the company.
  • Manage ICB process for technical requests outside of standard product catalog.
  • Discover and qualify prospective and current customer’s business needs, and then design solutions that leverage Telesystem’s product portfolio and network assets.
  • Provide virtual and field support as required to assist Sales team with product presentation and solution design.
  • Assist Manager, Sales Engineering in conducting monthly trainings for Sales Team on new products, data networking, telecommunications technology and more.
  • Contribute to technical responses required for RFPs and other enterprise opportunities as needed.
  • Assist with product development initiatives as needed and serve as one of the subject matter experts for sales training once the product is release by Product Development.
  • Assist other Sales Engineers in the day-to-day tasks and provide training as needed.
  • Monitor and oversee the task approval process in the CRM system for the sales engineering team to ensure order accuracy and follow up with appropriate parties as needed for changes.
  • Prepare and present internal and external training programs on new products and features.
  • Attend industry events, partner workshops/expos/symposiums, and trade shows as delegated for the purpose of supporting the Sales Team, improving solution design, competitive intelligence gathering and industry trend analysis.
  • Following and enforcing the Company’s policies and procedures, including the EEO guidelines and safety at all times.
  • Performing any miscellaneous department duties as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent - required
  • 4 years of Sales Engineering experience or similar role - required
  • 7 years in the telecommunications industry in a technical role or similar industry experience - required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio products – required
  • 2 years of sales with Cybersecurity products/solutions - preferred
  • *Must be obtained within the first year of employment*
  • Fortinet NSE level 4 or higher certification – required
  • Obtain a CCNA Certification level or higher – required

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • The Senior Sales Engineer is a salaried, exempt position. The regular work hours are 40 hours, Monday – Friday. These hours may vary to accommodate the needs of the company.
