Job description

Key Responsibilities:
Assess telecommunications technologies and develop solutions aligned with FAA/FTI network infrastructure and operational requirements.
Architect and engineer next-generation telecommunications services to replace legacy copper-based systems with modern network solutions.
Design and implement WAN and telecommunications network solutions that support customer operational goals and long-term strategies.
Establish and maintain best practices for network design, capacity planning, resiliency, and service continuity.
Manage and support the telco design release lifecycle to ensure timely execution and alignment with program schedules.
Design, implement, and support Ethernet and TDM network infrastructures.
Coordinate with telecommunications carriers and support carrier ordering processes and procedures.
Create and maintain technical documentation related to telecom network systems and implementations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical discipline; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of WAN telecommunications network experience; OR Associate’s degree with a minimum of 8 years of WAN telecommunications network experience.
Experience designing and supporting WAN telecommunications infrastructures.
Strong understanding of Ethernet and TDM networking technologies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Knowledge of telecommunications carrier ordering systems and processes.
Experience with database modeling software such as MetaSolv.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Experience supporting large-scale or mission-critical network environments.
