Shenandoah Telecommunications Company ("Shentel") specializes in providing High-Speed Internet and other telecommunications services to customers in the Mid-Atlantic United States. We focus on rural communities, which are often overlooked by larger companies. The Shentel family of brands includes: Shentel: Provides traditional cable Internet services for small towns and rural communities. Glo Fiber: Delivers fiber-optic Internet for customers in larger cities, as a competitor to incumbent providers. Shentel Business and Glo Fiber Business: Offers small, medium and large-scale telecommunication services for businesses and enterprises in our areas. Job Summary
  • Work with a small construction team to install, repair, or replace overhead and underground communication lines.
  • Knowledge and physical ability to place, construct, maintain, or remove outside plant facilities.
  • Implements and carries out instructions from foreperson or supervisor.
  • Must be able to work aloft by means of bucket truck, ladders or climbing utility poles.
  • Ability to cross-train others on equipment operation, pole climbing, and safety procedures.
  • Establishes a safe working area by observing company safety procedures at all times.
  • Knowledge of damage prevention and hand dig best practices.
  • Operates and assists with the maintenance of construction equipment.
  • Ability to read complex work site drawings and assemble materials required to complete work tasks.
  • Work overtime, after-hours, weekends, holidays and available for emergency call outs as needed.
  • Observes all company safety procedures at all times.
  • Inspects work to determine and ensure compliance with prescribed operating and YESYESsafety standards.

Qualification Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma is required for the role. Associate's/Technical Degree - two years is preferred.
Experience Level:
  • 3 years of Construction experience is Required.
  • 3 years of Telecommunications experience is Required.

Job Skills & Knowledge:
  • The ability to safely work and communicate with construction team members.
  • Complete documentation in a timely and professional manner.
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Work Zone Traffic Certification.
  • Working aloft and confined space training.
