Position Information
Position Title TELECOMMUNICATIONS AIDE - PART TIME Reports To Director
Functions and Responsibilities
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Telecommunications or designee, the Telecommunications Aide is responsible for supporting and maintaining voice, video and data communication systems.
Please Note: Essex County College does not provide visa sponsorship of any kind. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and for the duration of employment.

Compensation: This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $20.00 per hour.

Supervisory Role

Oral and written instructions are received from the Associate Director of Telecommunications or designee.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Install, arrange, and maintain telecommunications equipment, cabling and associated hardware.
2. Respond promptly to problems or questions regarding telecommunications.
3. Assist in basic trouble shooting of ports and data
4. Test installed telephone systems, troubleshoot phone equipment failures and service issues.
5. Test installed video surveillance equipment, troubleshoot equipment failures and service issues.
6. Assists staff in the proper use of telecommunications equipment.
7. Prepare and maintains reports of pending and completed work.
8. Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Experience (number of years), Knowledge and/or Abilities
1. Demonstrated experience in telecommunication equipment repair, troubleshooting and end-user support.
2. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
3. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Minimum Education Requirements Associate's Degree Licenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver's license, etc.)
