NT Concepts is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to provide telecommunications connectivity support for both secure and unsecure, voice and video, for one of our cleared Government clients located domestically and world-wide. This position supports the Voice Over IP (VOIP) telephone and Video Telecommunications systems used by high level executives. The purpose of the work is to support voice and video telecommunications systems and serve as an on-call 24/7 point of contact for all communications issues relating to maintaining continuity of mission critical operations. The performance of this role directly affects high level executives and principals. The working hours for this position will be, 40 hours per week on a Thursday - Monday schedule. The position is supports a 24x7 business unit and may require travel to support remote locations as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
• Serves as a voice/VOIP telephone systems operator for the classified and unclassified voice/VOIP telephone resources. Responsible for operation, coordination, scheduling, maintenance, and testing for both classified and unclassified video communication resources.
• Serves as a voice telecommunications specialist for classified voice telecommunications system resources. Responsible for programming, operation maintenance, testing and connections for all secure voice telecommunications via all systems and all department networks to include Voice over Secure Internet Protocol (VoSIP) telephone systems. Configure, program, maintain, and test all secure instruments to ensure operational status is maintained.
• Coordinates with other agencies sites users for scheduling voice and video teleconferences.
• Responsible for testing, troubleshooting and installing secure and non-secure fax machines to include handling of all related circuit and mechanical problems to preclude system outages.
• The incumbent must possess the operational and technical knowledge of secure phones and Ricoh/ILEX classified fax machine. Position will perform the maintenance and testing for the classified fax machine, and the telephone connection for the classified facsimile, as well as testing for the unclassified fax machine and its telephone connection.
Qualifications
Skills/Knowledge Required:
• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree desirable, but may be substituted with equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5-7 years general telecommunications experience.
• Familiarization with networking concepts related to VoIP Telephony environment, telephone communications concepts, principles, and practices is preferred.
• In-Depth knowledge of telecommunications operating techniques, digital and analog communications requirements, local and wide area networking, and procedures used by federal and industry organizations.
• Knowledge of Tandberg and/or other equivalent Video Teleconferencing systems desirable.
• Must be able to follow established policies and regulations with exact precision, attention to detail is a must for this position.
• The incumbent frequently works under severe time constraints and must be able to multi-task many complex tasks and scenarios in order to meet strict deadlines.
• Must be able to develop and maintain productive working relationships with colleagues in the Telecommunications Unit and within the Operations Center.
• The incumbent must be in good health to deal with long hours occasionally needed in emergency situations. Must operate frequently in high intensity situations and under pressure.
• Working knowledge of Windows, MS Office and other PC based applications that may be used in the maintenance of documentation and records.
• Must provide as requested, either daily and/or weekly status reports to Supervisor.
• Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship and an Active Top Secret clearance are required.
