Job Title: Telecommunications EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking two Junior Telecommunications Engineers to support the design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of critical telecommunications and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering foundation, hands-on experience with router troubleshooting and debugging, and a desire to grow within a utility telecommunications environment. Experience configuring Nokia Service Routers is highly desirable.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues involving telecommunications networks and IP routing infrastructure.
- Debug network performance issues, outages, and connectivity problems within enterprise and operational technology environments.
- Configure, support, and maintain routers, switches, and associated network equipment.
- Assist with network design, implementation, upgrades, and maintenance projects.
- Analyze network performance and identify opportunities for optimization and improved reliability.
- Work with senior engineers to support telecommunications systems critical to utility operations.
- Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and technical procedures.
- Support testing, commissioning, and validation of network equipment and communication systems.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, operations, and field teams to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in on-call support or outage response activities as required.
Essential Skills- 1-2 years of experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving telecommunications networks and IP routing infrastructure issues.
- 1-2 years of experience in debugging network performance issues, outages, and connectivity problems.
- 1-2 years of experience in configuring, supporting, and maintaining routers, switches, and associated network equipment.
- 1-2 years of experience in assisting with network design, implementation, upgrades, and maintenance projects.
- 1-2 years of experience in analyzing network performance for optimization and improved reliability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience with diagnostic testing and debugging tools.
- Hands-on experience with telecommunication configuration.
- Experience configuring Nokia Service Routers is highly desirable.
Work EnvironmentThe role requires 90% onsite work at headquarters and 10% field work.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Tucson, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
