Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Structured Cabling) to lead and oversee structured cabling and telecommunications infrastructure projects from initiation through successful completion. This role is responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, work crews, client communications, resource planning, and project documentation while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the structured cabling industry, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record of managing multiple commercial telecommunications projects simultaneously. This position requires a hands-on leader who can effectively coordinate field teams, communicate with clients and vendors, and maintain profitability throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Lead structured cabling projects from project kickoff through final completion.

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all phases of telecommunications infrastructure installations.

  • Develop project execution plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within approved budgets.

  • Manage multiple active projects simultaneously.

Client & Vendor Coordination

  • Resolve project issues quickly while maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Technical Oversight

  • Review telecommunications drawings, specifications, and project documents.

  • Interpret blueprints and structured cabling design documents.

  • Review installation quality to ensure compliance with EIA/TIA standards.

  • Update redline drawings and prepare accurate "As-Built" documentation.

  • Verify testing procedures and ensure project documentation is complete.

  • Collect testing data and maintain project records.

Budget & Schedule Management

  • Monitor project costs and profitability.

  • Track labor hours and material usage.

  • Manage change orders and project scope modifications.

  • Develop recovery plans for delayed projects.

  • Prepare project forecasts and resource plans.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate project documentation.

  • Generate weekly and monthly project status reports.

  • Prepare executive management updates.

  • Maintain work schedules and project tracking reports.

  • Ensure project closeout documentation is complete.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the telecommunications or structured cabling industry.

  • Extensive experience managing structured cabling installation projects.

  • Strong knowledge of commercial structured cabling systems.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

  • Experience reading telecommunications drawings and construction plans.
