ABOUT THE ROLE
The GSW Substation General Foreman is responsible for the supervision, scheduling and coordination of all electrical substation field installation crews.

Essential Functions
  • Manage and schedule multiple field crews and projects.
  • Responsible for training and development of field crew and foreman.
  • Build and maintain relationships with the customer, inspectors and other trades.
  • Coordinate production and attend meetings with other trades and the general contractor to identify and resolve any conflicts.
  • Work closely with foremen and field crews to ensure all installations meet quality and electrical code standards.
  • Manage material and personnel requirements necessary to meet the project schedule and provides best course of action for construction methods.
  • Ensure all on-site personnel comply with project procedures as well as safety program requirements and construction practices.
  • May hold daily, weekly and/or monthly safety meetings.
  • Document all violations, provide appropriate notification and recommend and/or implement correction actions as required.
  • Responsible for efficient use of materials and equipment.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed in a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the electrical trades, Journeyman Electrician level or higher is required
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a lead role within the electrical field required
  • Must have experience in all aspects of low voltage to medium voltage commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
  • Experience working in field substation projects both brownfield and greenfield

Preferred Education
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of Substation Electrician Apprenticeship

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple field installation crews
  • Strong understanding of electrical installations standards and codes as well as construction practices used for electrical construction
  • Proficient in the development and implementation of company and contract procedures to include safety, compliance, and documentation of a project
  • Certified in CPR, First Aid, OSHA 10
  • Thorough knowledge of reading and interpreting plans, specifications and contract documents
  • Proficiency with MS Project and MS Suite such as Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Strong work ethic, good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

    • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
