Job description

Patriot, LLC is seeking a Network Telecom Administrator to join our mission essential team. The candidate will work as a member of an enterprise support team providing both local and remote support. Respond to network and telecom trouble tickets to include both wired and wireless connections and bandwidth issues, as well as VoIP phone and voice mail problems. Support IP assignment/DNS host name entry into Infoblox system.

Additional activities and functions include:

Network Coordination: Coordination for projects, site upgrades and team communication of device configurations and site support.

Network Documentation: Visio diagramming of network topologies, Excel and Word documentation of procedures, How Toโ€™s, and Work Instructions.

Network Infrastructure: Support site switches, VoIP phone system equipment, and communications devices.

Network Support & Management: Support operations equipment and devices. All network related equipment and communications management and support for VoIP infrastructure. Cross connections of lines and cable runs. Ethernet custom cabling and fiber connections to out buildings and ordering specs for new operations equipment and cables used to connect them.

Network - Voice Telecom: VoIP phone setup, analog phone cabling/punch down.

Candidates must be located within a one hour commute of Duluth, MN; Gulf Breeze, FL or Narragansett, RI.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • 1 to 4 years' experience depending on level of education
  • Knowledge of an enterprise computing environment.
  • Knowledge of network wiring/cabling.
  • Knowledge of managed switches.
  • Knowledge of network troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of distributed processing operations, procedures, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of computers and software.
  • Ability to monitor and resolve problems with distributed computer systems components.
  • Ability to identify and define user enterprise network needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Strong skills at troubleshooting enterprise problems
  • Must have strong customer service and support skills
  • Must have excellent computer and teamwork skills, good verbal communication skills, efficient organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Must be a self-starter, can work and learn independently, and a team player
  • Can-do attitude is critical

Essential Education:

  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems is preferred
  • CCNA is desirable.
  • ITIL certification is a plus

Must be clearable for Public Trust.

Organizational "Fit" Considerations:

Must be detail-oriented, have strong communication skills, and good work ethic. Position requires flexibility in job duties stemming from occasional after-hours/weekend work as well as the mission environment created at the customer site. Some travel may be required periodically.
