Job description


The Senior Principal Program Manager, Community Relations will lead the execution of OCI's community relations strategy for AI data center development. This senior leader will build messaging and programming to support community engagement, They will also partner with on-the-ground community engagement managers to develop trusted relationships with community groups, civic leaders, city council members, labor representatives, and other stakeholders who influence how OCI is perceived and how quickly projects move forward. The role will translate complex project activity into clear, credible, community-centered engagement that helps OCI grow responsibly while protecting execution speed and long-term reputation.

  • Build and lead the community relations messaging and engagement strategy for OCI AI data center expansion.
  • Develop proactive engagement plans alongside Community Engagement Managers for local residents, civic organizations, unions, elected officials, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare for emerging issues and create response plans to meet the needs of the moment.
  • Partner with internal teams to align messaging, project milestones, and external commitments.
  • Represent OCI in meetings, forums, and public settings with clarity, calm, and credibility.
  • Track stakeholder sentiment, key issues, commitments, and follow-up actions.
  • Create narratives and briefing materials that help executives communicate with confidence.
  • Support permitting, site readiness, and community alignment through disciplined external engagement.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in community relations, public affairs, external affairs, government relations, or a closely related field.
  • Proven success managing sensitive, high-visibility stakeholder environments.
  • Strong executive communication, facilitation, and issue management skills.
  • Experience working across multiple functions in fast-moving, complex organizations.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in hostile or high-pressure public settings.
  • Demonstrated skill in building trust with community leaders, public officials, and internal partners.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure, industrial, energy, telecom, data center, or similarly complex projects preferred.
  • Available to travel frequently to events, meetings, or forums across the US.

  • Bachelor's degree; advanced degree a plus.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $126,200 to $264,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
