Job Description: 

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Civil Construction Foreman to lead field crews in the delivery of civil infrastructure projects within the telecommunications industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in telecom-related civil works, including underground conduit systems, concrete forming and finishing, heavy equipment operation, and general framing. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily construction activities for telecom civil works including trenching, conduit installation, pit and pipe systems, concrete foundations, and structural framing.
  • Plan and coordinate field operations to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution.
  • Interpret blueprints, site plans, and construction drawings to guide and instruct crews.
  • Oversee concrete form setup and finishing for pads, vaults, and structural bases.
  • Operate and supervise the use of heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, skid steers, and trenchers.
  • Ensure proper installation of underground conduit systems to support fiber optic and utility infrastructure.
  • Perform or oversee framing tasks as needed for equipment shelters, pads, or other site structures.
  • Maintain strict adherence to workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of site activities, material usage, and crew timesheets.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, inspectors, engineers, and clients.
  • Train and mentor crew members to ensure performance and skill development.


Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a civil construction foreman or supervisory role, preferably within the telecommunications industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Underground conduit installation (fiber/utility)
    • Concrete forms, pouring, and finishing
    • Operation of heavy machinery
    • Framing and basic structural work
  • Solid understanding of civil construction techniques and telecommunications infrastructure requirements.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting site plans and construction documents.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; ability to travel between job sites as needed.
  • Working knowledge of OH&S requirements and safe work procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.



Preferred Qualifications (Assets):

  • Experience on NBN, 5G, or fiber optic deployment projects.
  • Machine operation certifications (e.g., excavator, skid steer, backhoe).
    • HDD (Boring) Operations a plus
  • White Card, First Aid, Confined Space Entry, and Traffic Control certifications.
  • Familiarity with 811 (Call Before You Dig) and asset protection processes.
  • Ability to use project management or field reporting software.
