What is a telecom manager?

Telecom Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and operation of telecommunication systems within an organization. They manage teams, coordinate with vendors, and ensure that voice, data, and video communication networks are reliable, secure, and efficient. Telecom Managers also develop policies, plan upgrades, and resolve issues to support business communication needs. Their role requires technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to stay current with emerging technologies.

What is the difference between Telecom Manager vs Network Engineer?

AspectTelecom ManagerNetwork Engineer

While both roles require networking knowledge and certifications like CCNA, the Telecom Manager focuses on managing telecom services, vendor relations, and project oversight, whereas the Network Engineer concentrates on designing and maintaining network infrastructure. The Telecom Manager typically has a broader managerial scope within telecom operations, while the Network Engineer is more technical and hands-on with network systems.

How does a telecom manager typically collaborate with other departments within an organization?

A Telecom Manager works closely with IT, operations, and finance departments to ensure that telecommunications systems meet organizational needs and budget requirements. They often coordinate with IT teams for network integration, troubleshoot issues alongside technical staff, and partner with finance to manage service contracts and control costs. Regular cross-departmental meetings and clear communication are essential to align telecom strategies with broader business objectives. This collaborative approach helps maintain efficient, secure, and cost-effective communication infrastructures.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a telecom manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Telecom Manager, you need in-depth knowledge of telecommunications systems, network management, and project coordination, typically supported by a degree in telecommunications, IT, or a related field. Experience with tools like VoIP platforms, network monitoring software, and relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA or CompTIA Network+ is highly valuable. Strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication are essential soft skills for managing teams and coordinating across departments. These skills ensure reliable network performance, efficient operations, and successful delivery of telecom projects in a fast-evolving industry.

Job description

OUTSIDE B2B TELECOM SALES REPRESENTATIVE

Face-to-Face Sales • Preset Appointments • One-Call Close

WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR AVERAGE SALESPEOPLE. WE'RE LOOKING FOR CLOSERS.

If you're looking for an easy sales job where you can coast and collect a paycheck, this isn't it.

Unified Global Solutions is building one of the top outside B2B telecom sales teams in the country. We're looking for experienced sales professionals who know how to build rapport, control the sales process, overcome objections, ask for the business, and close.

This is for serious closers only.

WHY OUR SALES REPS WIN

Most outside sales jobs have you spending your day:

  • Cold calling
  • Door knocking
  • Prospecting
  • Chasing leads

Not here.

We provide preset face-to-face appointments with qualified business owners so you can spend your time doing what top producers do:

Closing business.

THE ROLE

You'll meet business owners in their offices and help them improve their communications while reducing costs.

Solutions you'll present include:

  • Business VoIP Phone Systems
  • High-Speed Business Internet
  • Wireless Solutions
  • Managed Communications
  • Business Technology Solutions

This is a true one-call-close environment.

Every appointment is an opportunity to uncover needs, build value, handle objections, ask for the business, and close the deal before you leave.

Our inside team schedules your appointments so you can focus on selling—not prospecting.

Typical appointment schedule:

  • 9:00 AM
  • 11:00 AM
  • 1:00 PM
  • 3:00 PM

You'll work your assigned county and nearby territories, building long-term relationships with local businesses.

COMPENSATION

We reward production—not seniority.

Choose the compensation plan that fits your goals.

Option 1

Daily Pay + Commission

Ideal for sales professionals who want consistent income while ramping up.

Option 2

Higher Commission Plan

Higher commission percentage with no daily pay for experienced closers who want maximum earnings.

Average Commission

$875 per funded deal

Additional earning opportunities include:

  • Weekly commission payouts
  • Monthly bonuses
  • Sales contests
  • Performance incentives
  • Uncapped commissions

No commission caps. No income ceiling.

The more you sell, the more you make.

SALES SUPPORT

You're never selling alone.

Every deal is backed by an experienced sales manager who can assist with strategy, objections, deal structure, and closing.

You'll receive:

  • Preset appointments
  • Sales leadership support
  • Ongoing coaching
  • Continuous training
  • Leadership invested in your success

You bring the drive to close—we'll help you maximize every opportunity.

WHO WE WANT

We're looking for professionals who already know how to:

  • Build rapport quickly
  • Control a sales presentation
  • Identify customer needs
  • Handle objections
  • Create urgency
  • Ask for the business
  • Close in a one-call-close environment

You'll fit here if you're:

  • Competitive
  • Coachable
  • Self-motivated
  • Mentally tough
  • Professional
  • Hungry to earn
  • Committed to improving every day

If you're the salesperson everyone else is chasing on the leaderboard, we want to talk to you.

THIS JOB IS NOT FOR YOU IF...

  • You make excuses.
  • You blame the leads.
  • You need constant motivation.
  • You're uncomfortable asking for the sale.
  • You expect guaranteed income regardless of production.
  • You're satisfied being average.

Average performers don't last here.

THIS JOB IS FOR YOU IF...

  • You love competition.
  • You expect to win.
  • You enjoy face-to-face selling.
  • You thrive under pressure.
  • You want your income to reflect your performance.
  • You want unlimited earning potential.
  • You're willing to outwork your competition.
