Job description

TekCom Resources is seeking an experienced Safety Manager for a leading telecom infrastructure company with projects throughout the Southeast. This role is ideal for a safety professional with a strong telecom or utility construction background and a proven track record of building, implementing, and improving effective company-wide safety programs.
This position will support multiple office and field operations throughout the Carolinas and surrounding markets, requiring approximately 25% or more travel. The ideal candidate must be comfortable visiting active construction sites, conducting field safety audits, delivering training, and working closely with operations teams across various locations.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience supporting field operations, creating a culture of safety accountability, ensuring OSHA and DOT compliance, and developing scalable safety policies and procedures across multiple locations and field teams.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide health and safety programs
  • Create and enforce safety policies, procedures, and training initiatives
  • Lead efforts to build a proactive safety culture across field and office operations
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements
  • Conduct field audits, job-site inspections, and risk assessments
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses while implementing corrective actions
  • Maintain and update Safety Manuals, Employee Handbooks, and safety documentation
  • Deliver safety training and presentations for employees and leadership teams
  • Monitor safety performance metrics and prepare weekly/monthly reporting
  • Support workers compensation and auto insurance claims management and renewals
  • Partner with operations leadership to identify and reduce workplace hazards
  • Standardize safety practices across multiple office and field locations
