This role is responsible for managing expense cost control and related transactions including budgeting and forecasting, monthly invoice auditing, variance analysis, contract management, cancellation, database maintenance, and communications. The Senior Analyst will work closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors and consultants to identify cost-saving opportunities, ensure billing accuracy, and implement effective expense management strategies. The ideal candidate will have expert level proficiency in Excel with experience managing large data sets. Familiarity with enterprise Accounts Payable/General Ledger processing, internal cost allocations, telecom carrier service invoicing and the telecom billing dispute process is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Expense Management
    • Lead the organization's expense management program, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
    • Manage and maintain the expense management database, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
    • Identify and address billing errors, disputes, and discrepancies with vendors.
    • Recover overcharges and billing errors from vendors.
    • Develop and implement processes to prevent future billing errors and discrepancies.
    • Proactively monitor, analyze, and report on expenses, identify trends, anomalies, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Contract Management
    • Review and analyze contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the organization.
    • Maintain a comprehensive contract database, tracking key contract terms, expiration dates, and renewal options.
    • Monitor contract compliance and performance, addressing any breaches or issues with vendors.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Prepare and present regular reports on expenses, trends, and cost-saving initiatives to management.
    • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of the program.
    • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.
    • Maintain data analysis models by formatting and populating new data
  • Vendor Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
    • Manage vendor performance, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and contract terms.
  • Project Management
    • Participate in related projects, such as technology upgrades, service migrations, and cost-reduction initiatives.
    • Track progress and manage stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Financial Management
    • Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Submit month-end accruals
    • Invoice Allocation
    • Coordinate with AP for the processing and payment of invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in expense management, contract management, or a related field.
  • Experience with data formatting, data analysis and reporting tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, data visualization, and statistical analysis functions. Proven ability to leverage Excel for complex data modeling and reporting.

Preferred
  • Strong understanding of telecom billing, contracts, and industry trends.
  • Experience with telecom expense management (TEM) software and systems.
  • Knowledge of telecom technologies, such as VoIP, data networks, and wireless services.
