Job Description
Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), located in Reno, Nevada is seeking applicants for a Library Assistant at the Applied Technology Center located at 475 Edison Way. This is a part-time LOA position, up to 19.5 hours a week. This is a temporary position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for the Learning Commons, providing exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and visitors.
  • Check in/out books/materials, collection management, library tours, library information sessions, research assistance, book scanning, and tutoring liaison.
  • Accurately manage a budget; purchasing materials and supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with faculty and students on Student IDs, proctoring exams, answering phones, providing directions, collecting mail and packages, unlocking classrooms, and help with wizard's warehouse.
  • Assist with campus tours, resume building, and job application guidance.
  • Help students enroll in classes, find classes and provide program requirements for degrees and certificates.
  • Keep the area running smoothly by maintaining supply inventory and handling purchases.
  • Assist with computer, printer, 3D printer assistance/troubleshooting, and WiFi issues.
  • Submit work orders to ensure timely building maintenance and create a comfortable work environment.
  • Being an effective planner and problem-solver.
  • Showing attention to detail and creating accurate work products.
  • Effective and professional communications with all constituent groups.
  • Demonstrate "follow through" in all customer service; be professional in all faculty and student interactions.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
1. Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one (1) year of clerical experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records, answering telephones, and reviewing forms, documents, and other written materials OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Schedule:
The typical schedule for this position is Monday-Friday between 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. not to exceed 19.5 hours a week.
Salary Information:
$15/hour

Part-Time Faculty can attend a paid Orientation, receive paid professional development training, receive tuition reimbursement through Grant-in-Aid, and receive longevity payments based on years of service. Part-time Faculty are not eligible for health benefits unless they meet specific workload requirements per semester. Those who meet the eligibility criteria can access a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.

This is an on-going pool of qualified individuals interested in part-time, temporary non-tenure track instructional opportunities at Truckee Meadows Community College.
