Job description

Host - KA'TEEN

Job Summary:The Host's focus on ensuring the guests have a positive experience as soon as they enter the restaurant. They will exude hospitality through poise, eye contact, friendly and welcoming nature. They will provide guests with menus and answer any initial questions they may have about the property besides ascertaining of guests reservations details. They are the gatekeepers to our business. Hosts control the flow of service by seating guests according to station rotation, coordinating reservations and walk-ins, and communicating special requests to the team. The host must exemplify hospitality under pressure, while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responds to our guest inquiries
  • Answers phones
  • Keeps accurate count of reservations and manages the reservation book
  • Collects and stores menus
  • Has complete knowledge of the floor plan, table numbers and stations.
  • Seats the restaurant in a fair manner, rotating server stations
  • Completes room checks and edits the floor management system accordingly
  • Immediate awareness when tables are reset and ready with accurate guest counts and table settings
  • Guides guests to a set and ready table for service

Qualifications:

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have current CA food handler card and RBS training certificate
  • Must be able to remain calm and composed at all times
  • Must have flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Knowledge of seating management systems (Preferred but not required)
  • Experience with answering phones in a reservations system

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and stand/walk for at least 8 hours in length
  • Must be able to lift trays or objects up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, climb, reach overhead and below the knees to perform certain tasks
