Job description


The Accounts Specialist plays a vital role in advancing the ministry's mission by ensuring accurate, efficient, and reliable daily financial and administrative functions.
Responsibilities
  • Accurately process all accounts receivable transactions, including checks, online payments, and donations.
  • Prepare and distribute timely monthly billing statements via email.
  • Receive and review invoices, collaborating with the Executive Administrator to ensure prompt payment.
  • Provide responsive support to Adult & Teen Challenge affiliates regarding accounts, invoices, and recurring payments.
  • Deliver reconciled month-end reports to CPAs with precision and consistency.
  • Support the Executive Administrator with assigned tasks, including preparation for the annual audit.
  • Oversee operations of the ATC online store across multiple platforms, ensuring order fulfillment, strong vendor coordination, and excellent customer service.
  • Monitor and manage inventory, including creating purchase orders and maintaining supplier communication.
  • Coordinate and execute annual inventory counts.
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure product availability for events and initiatives.
  • Administer and process Light for the Lost grants within the Zoho platform.
  • Assist with credit card reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Provide backup phone coverage, maintaining a courteous and helpful first point of contact for callers.

Requirements
Required Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience
  • High school diploma required; a 2- or 4-year degree in accounting or business is preferred (but not required).
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) strongly preferred.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated technological aptitude and willingness to learn new systems.
