Position Specific Description

The Senior Manager - Technology Solutions provides technical leadership, solution architecture, and delivery oversight for strategic technology initiatives supporting NextEra's Power Generation fleet. This role partners with business leaders, architecture, product teams, engineering, and delivery organizations to define technology strategies, recommend solution approaches, and lead execution of complex technology programs.
 
The successful candidate is an experienced technology leader who has designed and delivered enterprise-scale solutions. They combine strong technical expertise with proven program execution experience, ensuring solutions are strategically aligned, technically sound, and operationally supportable. This role bridges business strategy, technology architecture, and delivery execution to drive measurable business outcomes.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business and IT leadership to understand business objectives and translate them into practical technology solutions.
  • Lead end-to-end solution architecture for complex technology initiatives, from business concept through production implementation.
  • Evaluate technology options and recommend scalable, secure, and supportable solutions that align with enterprise standards and long-term application strategy.
  • Define integration needs across enterprise applications, operational technologies, and third-party systems.
  • Assess emerging technologies and recommend solutions based on business value, implementation complexity, operational support, and total cost of ownership.
  • Provide technical leadership, architectural governance, and lead cross-functional teams across multiple strategic technology programs.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet performance, reliability, scalability, security, and operational support requirements.
  • Serve as a trusted technology advisor to both PGD and IT partners providing guidance on technology investments and strategic initiatives.
  • Present technical recommendations, solution alternatives, and implementation risks.
 
Experience
  • 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, and leading complex enterprise technology solutions.
  • Proven success leading large-scale technology implementations from strategy through production deployment.
  • Strong experience in solution architecture, enterprise integrations, cloud technologies, application modernization, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated expertise implementing Databricks-based solutions and modern cloud data platforms to enable scalable, secure, and high-performing business capabilities.
  • Experience architecting and delivering technology solutions that leverage large-scale operational data, IoT/OT platforms, and enterprise system integrations to support mission-critical business operations.
  • Proven ability to evaluate technology alternatives and recommend solutions that balance business value, scalability, operational support, security, and long-term sustainability.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical teams and influencing architectural decisions across complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate business needs into actionable technology solutions.
Job Overview

This position establishes strategy, develops business plans, and oversees and directs the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions to meet business needs. Leaders in this role provide leadership and oversight to manage performance and results in one or more Information Technology (IT) disciplines. Individuals will be accountable for the reliability, performance, security, and continuity of IT systems and supported business processes.

 Provides leadership, influence, vision, roadmap, and direction to the organization to contribute to achieving the company's goals

 Works with IT leaders to develop overall IT strategy in alignment with business strategy

 Oversees the value stream by focusing on cost and risks of technology portfolio to meet business needs

 Supports and fosters innovative technologies to deliver new ideas that enable business transformation

 Ensures high levels of ongoing system and application performance in production environments

 Oversees the development of processes and tools to automate code releases from development to operations (DevOps)

 Establishes and drives technology roadmaps that align with current and future business needs

 Manages third party technical and outsourcing relationships to deliver project and operational support objectives

 Ensures technology processes are conducted in line with applicable standards and company policies

 Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

 High School Grad / GED

 Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience

 Experience: 10+ years

 Supervisor/Management Experience: 5+ years
