As a Technology Services Engineer I in our Chapel Hill office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.

You will work with and be mentored by experienced engineers. Your assignments will include conducting code/standard/guideline research, performing telecom outlet and Technology system device density studies and calculations, developing Technology room size and location concepts, developing Technology system device and equipment locations, coordinating Technology work with project team members of other disciplines, reviewing product data and shop drawing submittals, preparing answers to requests for information, preparing construction change documents, and conducting existing condition and construction progress field surveys. As you gain project experience, you will take on a greater role in leading Technology project teams, designing Technology systems, selecting basis of design equipment and devices, preparing specifications, and participating in project meetings with clients and other project team members. We encourage you to learn and take on additional responsibility as soon as you are able; we believe that everyone who joins AEI is a potential future leader of our firm.
Expertise of our most successful Technology Services Engineer I:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited school.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Leadership involvement in extracurricular activities/student organizations preferred.
  • Interest in helping clients leverage technology and technology systems to address their operational needs and meet their staff and organizational goals.
  • Interest in and curiosity about existing and emerging technologies.
  • Internship experience in building systems design - technology/electrical preferred.
