We're looking for a Category Manager to join our Sourcing team within Global Supply Chain at our World Headquarters in Easton, PA. In this role, you'll lead negotiations and supplier management across the Victaulic supply base, driving the strategic sourcing process on a global basis and developing strategies that deliver optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance. You'll research and analyze emerging procurement trends, present proposed supply chain solutions to leadership, and negotiate major and global agreements as the primary supplier relationship owner. Working closely with the Global Supply Chain Team and local management, you'll implement strategies, contracts, and pricing across all regions to keep total cost of ownership low while maintaining strong supplier relationships - a high-visibility opportunity to shape sourcing strategy for a growing global manufacturer.

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD & OWN

  • Address all areas of category management, including business plans, global market and pricing analysis, and procurement support, contributing to the company's strategic category objectives and goals
  • Develop global category strategies with defined plans for cost savings, risk assessment and mitigation, and service level agreements
  • Lead development and execution of category negotiation strategies with suppliers, including targets for pricing, service, quality, intellectual property, tool ownership, exclusivity, and inventory
  • Monitor market conditions and technology roadmaps, and develop subject matter expertise in assigned commodities through research, benchmarking, and cost-driver analysis
  • Serve as the center of knowledge for assigned category areas, sharing market intelligence and price trends with key stakeholders, and maintain should-cost models relevant to the global marketplace
  • Utilize the strategic sourcing process to manage assigned commodities and finished products across multiple Victaulic and subsidiary locations, forming cross-functional teams to reduce cost and improve quality and delivery performance
  • Analyze spend data and market trends to prioritize sourcing initiatives, consolidate spend across manufacturing locations to create leverage, and identify new high-potential suppliers globally
  • Deliver 5% year-over-year net cost reductions for commodities and programs within your assigned responsibility
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance, including dispute resolution, and develop key performance measures to negotiate longer-term strategic contracts
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) programs as Program Manager, coordinating sourcing and supplier qualification activities on a global basis, and manage multiple projects and track progress against schedules

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management from an accredited college or university
  • 4+ years of relevant, progressive experience in Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the strategic sourcing process and tools and their application within a global supply chain and multi-plant manufacturing business
  • Track record of delivering significant cost reduction and service level improvements
  • Expertise in negotiating long-term contracts with safeguards against identified risks
  • Ability to identify key performance measures and evaluate alternatives
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams, attaining cross-functional consensus
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate positions with clarity at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work with key stakeholders across multiple global locations and levels
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities using contemporary tools and methods
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
