Job Summary:

The Print IT Field Support IT Technician position is responsible for the installation, support, and repair of a variety of printing, scanning and other network connectivity issues as it relates to GFI's MFPs and related software. This is a highly technical position which requires extensive knowledge of computers, networks and software gained from classroom and on-the-job training. This position requires a positive attitude and contribution from all team members.

Job Responsibilities:

Technical Expertise

  • Perform a full range of configuration and connection of MFPs to customer's networks and systems. This includes installation and configuration of print drivers and other software on customer's computer systems, as well as customer training
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, printing, scanning problems as well as computer and network problems as necessary (as they relate to GFI equipment)
  • Understand printing from a large variety of software as well as configuration and use of print driver
  • Update firmware on a large variety of equipment
  • Maintain and manage a territory and all calls & installs in that territory
  • Responsible for the maintenance and protection of company property
  • Completes all required administrative tasks (paperwork) in an accurate and timely manner

Classroom Training

  • Must complete all assigned computer based online training
  • Under the supervision of Field Support IT Manager or Service Manager, follow company training programs, policies, and guidelines
  • Demonstrate appropriate technical skills for the installation, support of connected equipment and related software
  • Troubleshooting of customer's connectivity issues and customer training
  • Attend scheduled training/instruction when necessary to acquire/increase working knowledge of connectivity, networking, software applications, color calibration and color management techniques

On-the-Job Training

  • Receive direction and perform assignments relative to the installation and configuration of office equipment that may be new and unfamiliar
  • Research problem on vendor's websites and other online resources
  • Installs firmware updates, configuration of drivers and machine settings related to printing, scanning, and document server functions

Customer Service

  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction with both our products and services
  • Understands and utilizes problem escalation procedures
  • Maintain productive and professional relationships with all GFI employees, customers, and vendors
