Job Summary

The IT Manager is a hands-on, people-centered technology leader responsible for overseeing IT operations, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business intelligence across U.S. and U.K. locations. This role blends day-to-day operational leadership with strategic planning and is designed as a growth opportunity for an experienced IT manager ready to expand into a broader leadership role over time.


The organization operates in an aerospace manufacturing environment supporting both Military and Commercial programs, requiring strong discipline around cybersecurity, compliance (CMMC, NIST 800-171, ITAR/EAR), and reliable service delivery. A key focus of this role is advancing data-driven decision-making by building and enabling a scalable Power BI reporting framework that leadership can trust.


Key Objectives (First 12-24 Months)

Build a stable, trusted IT team with clear roles, accountability, and reduced firefighting

Strengthen cybersecurity posture and compliance readiness

Improve operational reliability across infrastructure and end-user support

Advance the company's Business Intelligence capability using Power BI as a core platform


Key Responsibilities


IT Operations & Infrastructure

Manage day-to-day IT operations including networks, endpoints, servers, cloud/hybrid services, and core business systems

Ensure system availability, performance, security, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery readiness

Lead IT projects such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations

Establish and maintain disciplined operational processes (ticketing, change management, asset management, documentation)

Manage vendors and service providers with attention to cost, performance, and security


Cybersecurity & Compliance

Own IT operational readiness and cybersecurity posture across the organization

Support compliance with NIST 800-171 / CMMC and ITAR/EAR requirements, including:

Access controls (least privilege, MFA, privileged access)

Patch management and vulnerability remediation

Logging, monitoring, and evidence retention

Incident response planning and tabletop exercises

Third-party/vendor risk management

Translate technical and compliance risks into clear business terms for leadership


Business Intelligence & Power BI Enablement

Lead and support the organization's Business Intelligence journey with Power BI as the primary reporting platform

Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports supporting Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management

Partner with business leaders to define KPIs, standardize metrics, and establish a "single source of truth"

Improve data readiness by supporting data integration, data quality controls, and role-based access

Establish a sustainable BI operating model (intake, prioritization, documentation, release cadence, and user training)


Leadership & Collaboration

Lead, mentor, and develop IT staff and external partners; create training plans and reduce key-person dependency

Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and respect for institutional knowledge

Clearly communicate priorities, expectations, and escalation paths

Serve as a trusted partner to leadership and department heads on technology and analytics initiatives

Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical stakeholders

Requirements

 Required Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

5+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibility

Strong foundation in IT infrastructure, cloud/hybrid environments, identity, and endpoint management

Working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, controls, and monitoring

Hands-on experience with Power BI, including report development, data modeling, and publishing

Experience working with data sources such as ERP/MRP, CRM, manufacturing, or financial systems

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or other regulated environments

Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171, ITAR/EAR, or similar compliance frameworks

Power BI certification (e.g., PL-300)

Experience with Azure, SQL, or data integration tools

Knowledge of ITIL or structured IT service management practices
