Toyon Research Corporation is seeking an intern to assist with the day-to-day information technology operations. The intern will join a dynamic and fast paced IT organization with a focus on excellence and diligence. The intern will follow established IT policies and procedures, working to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have strong analytical capabilities, excellent communication skills and a desire to learn and excel.
Responsibilities:
  • PC Setup: Follow established procedures to assemble, configure, and set up PC computers for new employees or system upgrades
  • Software Installation: Install and configure software applications on PC computers, ensuring compatibility and adherence to organizational policies
  • Software Verification: Perform thorough testing and verification of installed software to ensure proper functionality and troubleshoot any issues that arise
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of hardware configurations, software installations, inventory, and troubleshooting steps
  • Troubleshooting: Assist with diagnosing and resolving network-related and printer problems as needed
  • Inventory Management: Organize inventory, verify inventory count, and reconcile inventory in our inventory management system
  • Communication: Communicate with users to verify the assets in their possession, and communicate with IT team members in other offices to coordinate remote inventory verification

Requirements
  • High School Diploma and a strong interest in STEM
  • Active enrollment in a college degree program
  • Basic understanding of computer networks as well as Unix and Windows based operating systems and their corresponding software ecosystems

The hourly pay range for the IT Intern position is $18.00 to $20.00.
The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on hourly base compensation for the position, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives.
