Job description

Overview
Rambus, a premier chip and silicon IP provider making data faster and safer, is seeking to hire an exceptional Program Manager. In this role, you will be working with some of the brightest inventors and engineers in the world developing products that make data faster and safer.
As a Program Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading complex, company-wide initiatives in memory technologies, driving innovation across memory architectures, high-speed interfaces, memory subsystems, and next-generation memory solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong program leadership to plan, execute, and deliver cross-functional initiatives aligned with strategic business objectives, while shaping future technologies, products, and overall business direction. In this full-time role, you'll report directly to our Director of Engineering Program Management.
Rambus offers a flexible work environment, embracing a hybrid approach for most office-based roles. Employees are encouraged to spend an average of at least three days per week onsite, allowing for two days of remote work.
Responsibilities
Program Leadership
  • Define program scope, goals, and success metrics aligned with organizational strategy
  • Manage program roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables
  • Coordinate and drive execution across multiple interdependent projects

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with stakeholders across engineering, product management, operations, finance, and other teams
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between teams and leadership
  • Resolve cross-team dependencies and remove blockers

Execution & Delivery
  • Monitor program progress and ensure milestones are met on schedule
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Drive accountability across teams

Stakeholder Management
  • Communicate program status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Manage expectations and ensure alignment on priorities

Process Improvement
  • Establish and optimize program management processes and best practices
  • Continuously improve workflows, tools, and reporting mechanisms
  • Promote operational excellence and efficiency

Data & Reporting
  • Track performance metrics and KPIs
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership
  • Use data to inform decisions and drive program success

Scope & Independence
  • Exercises wide latitude in determining objectives, strategies, and execution approaches for critical initiatives
  • Influences decision-making and direction across organizations without formal authority
  • Serves as a key driver of vision, innovation, and technical excellence in security

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of related experience in security, engineering, or technology leadership
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience with program management tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project)
  • Expertise across multiple areas of such as:
  • Memory technology (DDR5, LPDDR5/6, HBM3/4)
  • Familiarity with memory controllers PHYs and understanding of ASIC/SoC development flow.

The US salary range for this full-time position is $140,800 to $261,400. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.
