Technology Content information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a technology content writer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Technology Content Writer, you need strong writing and research skills, a solid understanding of technology concepts, and typically a degree in communications, journalism, or a technical field. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), SEO tools, and analytics platforms is often required. Creativity, adaptability, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content are valuable soft skills. These competencies ensure accurate, accessible, and impactful technology communications for target audiences.

What is a technology content professional?

Technology Content professionals are individuals who create, manage, and optimize content related to technology topics. They may write articles, produce videos, or develop technical documentation that explains complex tech concepts in an accessible way. Their primary goal is to educate, inform, and engage audiences about technology products, trends, and innovations. These professionals often work closely with subject matter experts, editors, and marketing teams to ensure accuracy and relevance. Technology Content roles can include content writers, editors, strategists, and multimedia producers.

How does a technology content specialist typically collaborate with technical teams to ensure accuracy in content?

A Technology Content Specialist often works closely with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to gather detailed information and verify technical details. This collaboration may involve attending product meetings, conducting interviews, and reviewing technical documentation to clarify complex concepts. Regular feedback loops and content review sessions help ensure that published materials are both accurate and accessible to the target audience. Building strong relationships with technical teams is essential for staying updated on new features or changes and producing high-quality content.

We're looking for people who put their innovation to work to advance our success - and their own. Join an organization that ensures a more secure world through connecting and protecting our customers with inventive electrical solutions.

We are seeking a Content Marketing Specialist to lead and implement content strategy for our Fastening brands (nVent CADDY and nVent LENTON) within the Electrical Connections segment. This role centers on developing campaign-aligned content and translating technical input into clear, accessible messaging. The ideal candidate works effectively with engineers and product teams to make complex topics approachable while maintaining technical accuracy.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Develop and deliver content strategies aligned to business marketing plans and global campaigns, connecting audience needs, buyer journey stages, and New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives.
  • Create and lead high-quality, on-brand content across formats-including articles, blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, infographics, landing pages, email, and social media, while maintaining consistency in voice and messaging.
  • Partner closely with technical subject matter authorities (engineers, product managers, and solutions architects) to interpret and communicate technical information in a way that resonates with industrial and engineering audiences.
  • Manage the global editorial calendar, ensuring consistency across regions and marketing channels while upholding brand standards and supporting campaign priorities.
  • Improve performance through SEO and AEO principles, on-page optimization, and the use of AI-enabled tools to scale and refine output.
  • Monitor and evaluate content performance (engagement, traffic, conversions), using insights to refine direction, support decision-making, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field.
  • Ideally 3-5 years of marketing experience, including at least 1 year focused on B2B content marketing. Data center, industrial technology, or electrical infrastructure market experience a plus.
  • Experience translating technical concepts into clear, relevant content for business or technical audiences.
  • Experience supporting product launches or commercialization efforts (NPI or similar).
  • Working understanding of SEO or AEO principles and content optimization, including keyword research and on-page tactics preferred.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with sound editorial judgment and attention to brand voice.
  • Ability to lead multiple concurrent priorities and collaborate across globally distributed, cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with CMS, marketing automation, CRM, project management tools, and digital asset management systems; such as Marketo, Salesforce, Monday.com, or JIRA preferred.
