Your work environment at EXP

EXP is currently seeking a Roofing Technologist/Associate to join our dynamic Building Science Division in our Brampton, ON office. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of technical work related to roof consulting as it relates to new construction, assessment and restoration projects, including but not limited to the responsibilities listed below.

What a day at EXP has in store for you 

  • Conduct roof condition assessments and prepare assessment reports
  • Review of new roof installations and reroofing of existing buildings and prepare field observation reports 
  • Assist in preparation of drawings and specifications for reroofing projects
  • Assist in contract administration
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, substitution requests and RFIs
  • Assist in writing proposals
  • Liaison with clients, building strong client relationships
  • Deal with contractors and roofing trades


 

What your experience looks like

  • Degree or college diploma in a related field of study such as Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Building Science
  • 2-5 years' experience in roofing industry
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the installation, reroofing or repair of roofs
  • Registration with the RCI as a RRO is an asset
  • General knowledge of building science technology and construction
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Willingness to work at heights, where required
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Professional and tactful communication skills when working with clients and colleagues
  • Adaptable and effective in high-demand, fast-paced environments
  • Proactive approach 
  • An excellent team builder with the ability to motivate people
  • Leadership skills are an asset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills as well as attention to detail
  • A valid driver's license with own vehicle and travel throughout GTA and Southern Ontario is required


This job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization.

The base salary range for this role is between $50,000 to $70,000. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
