Job Summary:
Sunrise Systems, Inc. is a leading Retail, Sports and Apparel manufacturing company seeking a Project Manager - IT 4. This role is focused on managing software and firmware development projects, ensuring teams are aligned and maintaining momentum in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
• Organize and drive execution for software and firmware development efforts across teams
• Own sprint planning, backlog hygiene, and prioritization in JIRA, with particular focus on bug triage, quality, and delivery readiness
• Establish and evolve execution processes where needed, not just operate existing ones
• Drive clear priorities, action items, owners, and follow ‐ ups to ensure progress and convergence
• Facilitate agile ceremonies and working sessions that produce decisions and forward motion
• Act as a strong intermediary between engineers, product, design, and QA to resolve ambiguity and surface risks early
• Maintain documentation to support alignment, accountability, and execution
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum required years of experience: 8+ YOE as an IT Project Manager with software and firmware development experience
• Education requirements: Bachelors or equivalent experience
• Must have skills: Scrum master, software and firmware development
• Experience being a builder, is curious, a process creator - there is not a playbook to follow, can pivot and improve the process as it goes, bias for action, knows how to ask good questions to get things going
• Senior ‐ level experience managing software and firmware projects in an agile environment
• Strong background as a project manager, Scrum Master, or agile delivery lead for technical teams
• Experience working on hardware ‐ integrated or mechatronics products
• Deep comfort using JIRA to organize work, prioritize issues, and adapt workflows to team needs
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate across technical and non ‐ technical audiences
• Builder mindset: you see gaps, lean in, and create structure to help teams move faster
• Highly self ‐ motivated, action ‐ oriented, and comfortable operating in ambiguous environments
• Service ‐ oriented leader who naturally enables teams, removes friction, and drives outcomes
Preferred:
• Embedded systems, robotics, wearables, or other firmware ‐ driven products
• Familiarity with firmware development lifecycles and validation workflows
• Experience coordinating across internal teams and external partners
• R&D, incubation, or fast ‐ moving product development environments
