Job Summary:
Director - Solution and Process Governance leading enterprise alignment of business processes and technology across Avangrid. Oversees end-to-end delivery of the S/4HANA transformation across seven operating companies, ensuring consistent execution and risk management. Drives standardization of processes across jurisdictions to enable scalable, compliant operations. Establishes governance frameworks that align business and technology to a unified enterprise model. Partners across IT, operations, and regulatory teams to deliver coordinated transformation outcomes. Focuses on simplifying end-to-end processes to reduce complexity and improve operational efficiency. Ultimately enhances customer experience by streamlining journeys, reducing friction, and enabling more consistent and reliable service.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and Lead Governance Strategy: Develop and implement an enterprise governance framework that aligns business processes and enabling technologies, with direct oversight of the S/4HANA transformation across seven operating companies.
Oversee Process and Solution Alignment: Drive harmonization of business processes and technology platforms, ensuring alignment to S/4HANA standards and enabling scalable, consistent operations across jurisdictions.
Align Governance Roadmaps with Business Goals: Translate corporate and S/4HANA program objectives into actionable governance roadmaps, ensuring alignment across business units, IT, and implementation partners.
Manage and Mentor Governance Teams: Lead cross-functional governance forums and Design Authority, providing direction and stewardship to ensure consistent decision-making and execution across the program.
Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner across IT, Operations, Regulatory, Legal, and Customer Experience teams to deliver integrated process and technology outcomes aligned to S/4HANA implementation.
Champion Standardization and Optimization: Promote adoption of fit-to-standard processes and minimize OpCo-specific deviations to enable efficiency, scalability, and long-term sustainability.
Drive Agile Governance Practices: Embed Agile principles within governance and transformation activities to support iterative delivery, transparency, and responsiveness.
Monitor Governance and Program Effectiveness: Track performance through KPIs, program milestones, and risk indicators to ensure successful delivery of S/4HANA outcomes at scale.
Manage Stakeholder Expectations: Act as a key interface between executive leadership, program leadership, and OpCos, ensuring alignment, transparency, and effective decision-making.
Ensure Financial Stewardship: Oversee governance-related investments and resource allocation, ensuring the S/4HANA program delivers measurable value, efficiency, and improved customer outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Digital, Technology, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in process governance or digital transformation, Minimum of 3 years of experience in a regulated utility preferred.
  • Strong understanding of governance frameworks, process standardization, and cross-functional alignment in complex or regulated environments.

Strong capability to design governance models that integrate regulatory requirements and customer needs, ensuring compliance and enhanced customer experience.
Analytical & Financial Acumen:
Proficient in data-driven decision-making, performance analysis, ROI evaluation, and budget management for governance initiatives.
Communication & Influence:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex governance concepts to executive audiences and influence decisions across the organization.
Regulatory & Industry Awareness:
Comprehensive understanding of utility sector regulations, compliance requirements, and emerging trends in energy and digital transformation.
Vendor & Partner Management:
Experienced in managing third-party vendors and technology partners, including RFP development, contract negotiation, and performance oversight.
Innovation & Market Awareness:
Knowledgeable in emerging technologies (IoT, AI, smart grid) and global governance trends, with the ability to identify and implement innovative practices that enhance agility and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
