Overview

SUMMER 2027

Shure offers a challenging, fun, and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students. We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, Interns who are asked to relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed, and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.

Theย AI Engineer Internย will assist in designing and building enterprise AI solutions - including AI agents, AI-powered web applications, automated AI workflows, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems - that help teams across Shure work smarter. The intern will work alongside our cloud and generative AI delivery teams, gaining hands-on experience taking AI solutions from prototype to production on a modern cloud stack.ย 

This internship will be Hybrid in Niles, IL.ย 

Responsibilities
  • Assist in designing, building, and testing AI agents and agentic workflows using frameworks and services such as AWS Bedrock, Strands, and the Model Context Protocol (MCP)ย 
  • Develop and prototype AI-powered web applications and internal productivity toolsย 
  • Build and evaluate RAG pipelines, including data ingestion, embedding, retrieval, and quality evaluationย 
  • Integrate large language models (LLMs) with enterprise data sources, APIs, and business systemsย 
  • Support prompt engineering, solution testing, and systematic evaluation of AI outputsย 
  • Write clean, well-documented code and participate in code reviews and design discussionsย 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical solutionsย 
Qualifications
  • In-process of a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, or a related disciplineย 
  • Proficiency in Python (experience with JavaScript/TypeScript is a plus)ย 
  • Familiarity with LLMs, generative AI concepts, or prompt engineeringย 
  • Exposure to RAG, vector databases, or embeddings is a plusย 
  • Understanding of REST APIs and integrating third-party servicesย 
  • Experience with a cloud platform (AWS or Azure) is a plusย 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detailย 
  • Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable working in a collaborative, hybrid team environmentย
