HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

The Technical Product Support Specialist responsibilities include providing technical support by answering tech service calls, evaluating warranty claims, and providing field service. Additional responsibilities also include providing product training and demonstrations to District Managers, Dealers and end users of Woods products. 

THE DETAILS

Technical Support (50%)

    • Provides technical support to District Managers, Dealers and end users of Woods Equipment product.
    • Troubleshoots questions regarding special orders.
    • Must have the ability to diagnose problems with Woods equipment.
    • Utilize basic understanding of hydraulic and electrical circuits.
    • Assist in helping dealer/customer get the correct product and model type equipment for their requested application.
    • Examine parts returned for warranty consideration.
    • Follow up with dealers regarding status of warranty issues.
    • Report customer complaints to Mfg., Quality, Engineering, and Product Management.

Training Support (25%)

    • Provide hands-on demonstrations of Wood's products to existing and potential customers.
    • Provide sales and product training to Wood's team members, dealers, and customers.
    • Design training materials as needed for sales and product training sessions.
    • Participate in trade shows

Testing and Evaluation of Products (25%)

    • Operate new and competitive products and provide feedback to the team on performance.
    • Meet with dealers and end users to evaluate products issues and make adjustments needed to correct or improve performance.

Communication and Documentation

    • Maintain open communication through conversation and both formal and informal documents.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Five plus years of work-related experience.
  • Degree in a related field desirable
  • Technical Writing experience
  • Woods Equipment product experience
  • 5 years' experience or more in Ag industry
  • Ability to operate Wood's equipment.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms.
  • Collaborative and effective team player and able to work with teams.
  • Set a good example of personal integrity.
  • Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn; seek out development activities to improve skills and increase knowledge; learn from other team members and own mistakes.
  • Take initiative, seek and act on opportunities to improve organization performance.
  • Ability to translate specific goals into action and follow through to achieve goals.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

At Oregon Tool, we provide a reasonable, good-faith estimate of the compensation range for this role of $75,000 - $85,000. Final offers are based on various factors such as experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity. This range may vary based on geographic location where the position is filled, and most new hires are not typically hired at the top of the range.
