Structural Product Design Engineer - Specialty Building Products - Base Salary to 130k/year - Lebanon, NJ

  • Our client, a well-established specialty building products manufacturer, is currently seeking a Structural Product Design Engineer to join their engineering team in Lebanon, NJ. This position will focus on the structural design, analysis, and development of exterior architectural products and custom-building solutions used in commercial construction applications. This role can be fully remote, or a hybrid set up if candidates are local to Lebanon, NJ.
  • The company is open to candidates at the Structural/Civil Engineer level with 5+ years of relevant experience or a Senior-level candidate with 7+ years of experience and a Professional Engineer (PE) designation. The role requires experience with structural engineering for aluminum and steel construction, including building faรงades, louvers, or related exterior building components.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, perform, and review structural design analyses for exterior aluminum, steel, and other architectural building products.
  • Perform structural calculations, load analysis, and structural design using engineering software such as RISA-3D, SAP2000, STAAD, or comparable structural analysis programs.
  • Apply structural engineering principles, U.S. building codes, design standards, and engineering practices to commercial construction and building envelope applications.
  • Design and analyze custom structural solutions for building faรงades, louvers, architectural metals, and exterior building components.
  • Coordinate product shop drawings, manufacturing requirements, installation requirements, technical documentation, and engineering support to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and design requirements.
  • Develop and modify AutoCAD drawings and details based on conceptual sketches, engineering calculations, project specifications, and design requirements.
  • Support the design of aluminum and steel components with consideration for installation, machining, welding, and manufacturing techniques.
  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Root Cause Analysis as required for product design, structural performance, and engineering investigations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of Civil/Structural Engineering experience involving aluminum and steel construction.
  • Experience with building faรงade construction and/or louver design.
  • Experience designing and/or analyzing aluminum, steel, or related structural systems.
  • Knowledge of U.S. building codes and structural design standards.
  • Experience with structural design and analysis software such as RISA-3D, SAP2000, STAAD, or comparable programs.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and experience with Inventor 3D or SolidWorks.
  • Working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Knowledge of installation, machining, and welding techniques related to aluminum and steel construction.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
