Job description

Purpose:
This position provides 24/7 engineering support to NEP SMPTE 2110 (IP) broadcast mobile units, studios and systems.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
� Provide 24/7 technical support for NEP mobile units, studios, fly packs and other broadcast systems
� Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, support and implement SMPTE-2110 and production systems in line w/ NEP engineering standards and best practices.
� Assist on-site engineering teams with troubleshooting IP video related and network related issues as it relates to router control system, video switchers, audio gear, intercoms, EVS networks, and other networked broadcast gear
� Assist on-site engineering teams with show support as needed, this includes, but is not limited to configuring and troubleshooting equipment, building and modifying router layouts, integrating third party and client provided gear
� Travel, as needed, to shows and large events to provide on-site engineering support.
� Interfacing with internal and external vendors to provide detailed reports and reproduction steps of software bugs and issues. This would include gathering data, interpreting the data sets and presenting the findings in a clear and concise manner to facilitate issue resolution.
� Participate in continuous learning and education to remain current on best practices and help train other broadcast engineers in IP video best practices and troubleshooting methodologies.
Position Requirements:
� Technical or Associates degree in Computer Science or Electronics desired, however a combination of education and experience will be considered.
� Cisco or Arista certification desired
� In depth knowledge of layer 2 and 3 switching, TCP/IP protocols, and multicast protocols
� Experience with JavaScript, Python, or other programming language is a plus
� Prior experience with SMPTE-2110 and broadcast television industry preferred
� Excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills.
� Demonstrates ability to multi-task several priorities and possess solid time management skills.
� Technical support background
� Must be willing and able to travel as necessary.
� Linux and Windows proficient
� Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and solutions quickly
� Ability to work shift work, including weekends, as required within the team to ensure operational support requirements are covered.
� Ability to deliver superior service and build lasting relationships by demonstrating NEP's Core Values
