JOB SUMMARY
Receives and resolves customer or dealer concerns regarding the operation of the alarm system by analyzing, diagnosing, and testing the alarm system using various applications. Escalating the issue when appropriate. ย Follows established procedures, industry best practices and manufacturer documentation in order to meet the needs of the customer or dealer as timely as possible. Follows internal processes and procedures to ensure excellent customer service. ย Assists with testing new services and equipment and may provide training as required.

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
(Not all inclusive or applicable to all assignments)

1. ย  ย Responds to all incoming correspondence or calls relating to the installation or the support of alarm systems from dealers and customers.
2. ย  ย Assists customers and internal staff by troubleshooting installation and operating systems issues/malfunctions.
3. ย  ย Following procedures, uploads/downloads alarm panel software programming in partnership with the dealer's technicians.
4. ย  ย Documents all actions taken in response to general inquiries, routine system tests, emergency situations, etc.
5. ย  ย Responds to inquiries from customers, co-workers, dealers, outside contractors and agencies with a focus on excellent customer service.
6. ย  ย Validates alarm response instructions and procedures with customers, municipal agencies, designated responsible parties, dealers, contractors and others as necessary.
7. ย  ย Performs data entry of customer information including but not limited to new customer activations, service work, account changes and updates, etc.
8. ย  ย Ensures accuracy of all customer monitoring account information including zones, dispatch procedures and key holders, etc.
9. ย  ย Participates as required in the assessment, testing, configuration and validation process for new and emerging products and services.
10. ย  ย Creates processes/procedures/documentation as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. ย  ย Two post-secondary classes in computer science, computer networking or a technology-based field of study OR two years of experience in a technical role or related field.
2. ย  ย General knowledge of security products and/or services.
3. ย  ย Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
4. ย  ย Working knowledge of personal computers from both a hardware and software perspective.
5. ย  ย Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with others.
6. ย  ย Successful completion of prescribed training.
WORKING CONDITIONS

SPECIFICATIONS
1. Responds to demand for immediate assistance while dealing withย multiple priorities daily.
2. Overtime may be requested.
3. Queue environment.
4. Works shifts as per Collective Agreement.
