ABOUT THE ROLE

Amrize Cement Inc. seeks a Technical Service Engineer. This is work-from-home position whereby the employee must reside in the Midwest. Note, this position requires up to 50% travel throughout the Midwest (predominantly Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Nebraska, and Kansas). The Technical Service Engineer will assist the assigned sales force in providing technical and marketing services for customers in a highly self-sufficient and autonomous fashion. This position will actively help develop and promote strategies and products that are aligned with Amrize's Building Materials Cementious Strategy.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Support customers in implementation of marketing strategies for cementitious products.
  • Work and train customers and Amrize's personnel in cement and concrete analysis, promotional activities andtraining.
  • Troubleshoot and handle customer quality-related complaints.
  • Support market managers on technical issues related to marketing multiple product lines.
  • Develop a connection base with customers, DOTs, trade associates, architects, engineers and public affairs.
  • Drive for quality management in the assigned territory including taking a lead role in quality councils, obtainingcompetitive samples, overseeing field sample retention program, and developing and collecting marketperformance data.
  • Participate in local and national industry associations, engage specifying agencies, and be a technical resourcefor company-wide operations.
  • Understand and communicate "local and national" issues with cementitious materials
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR   

Education:  Bachelors/Undergraduate Degree

Field of Study Preferred:  Engineering or Technical Degree

Required Work Experience:  5 years of experience in concrete or construction related field preferred. Excellent understanding of the cement industry and well versed in the uses of admixtures (chemical and mineral). Sales promotion experience or training.

Required Computer and Software Skills:  Proficient computer skills (Google Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Travel Requirements:  30-50%  Midwest areas: Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Nebraska, and Kansas

Licenses Preferred:  Professional Engineering (PE)

Additional Requirements: 

  • Experience calling on DOTs, engineering and architectural firms. Knowledge of ready mix and concrete products manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of the aggregate industry as it relates to the performance of concrete.
  • Knowledge of quality control and materials testing.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Customer focused with strong problem solving and issue management skills.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
