Position Summary

The Technical Sales Lead - Projects works in coordination with the Project Pursuit Lead to drive order growth by qualifying, developing, and securing capital project business. This role develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders at targeted end users and EPCs through technical discussions and presentations focused on Engineered Valves capabilities and project support requirements. The position provides technical expertise, specification support, and project engagement activities to help secure project opportunities and drive business growth.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Sales and Technical Project Support
  • Work with the Project Pursuit Lead to identify project opportunities.
  • Participate in developing strategies for pursuing each project.
  • Maintain up-to-date project plans for assigned opportunities.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders at targeted end users and EPCs.
  • Promote and sell Engineered Valves products and capabilities through technical expertise and product knowledge.
  • Technical Engagement and Specification Development
  • Perform specification development and support activities.
  • Review project specifications, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and data sheets.
  • Conduct technical discussions and presentations with customers and project stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with local sales personnel to conduct product information seminars for end users and EPC accounts.
  • Support distributors, field sales and inside sales personnel in customer engagements and order capture efforts.
  • Project Administration and Market Intelligence
  • Prepare reports, quotations, forecasts, and other administrative documentation.
  • Provide regular forecasts of potential sales volumes.
  • Communicate market trends and sales intelligence to management.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a technical field is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of outside technical sales experience is required. Experience selling valves, related products, or other capital equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with customers, EPCs, OEMs, distributors, and internal stakeholders
  • Strong technical aptitude, organizational skills, and communication skills
  • Proven project coordination skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and technical documents and prepare reports. Ability to performance specification reviews and technical evaluations.
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers, management, and other stakeholders
  • Ability to solve problems through data collection and establishing facts to draw conclusions and find solutions.
  • Strong presentation and relationship-building skills with a strong customer focus
  • Self-motivated and collaborative
  • MS Office proficiency - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Ability to travel up to 50% by air and car is required for customer sales calls, technical seminars, and project support activities.
