Job description

Innovation starts from the heart. At Edwards Lifesciences, we're dedicated to developing ground-breaking technologies with a genuine impact on patients' lives. At the core of this commitment is our investment in cutting-edge information technology. This supports our innovation and collaboration on a global scale, enabling our diverse teams to optimize both efficiency and success. As part of our IT team, your expertise and commitment will help facilitate our patient-focused mission by developing and enhancing technological solutions.

On-site in Irvine, CA.

How you'll make an impact:

As a Senior Anaplan Solutions Architect at Edwards Lifesciences, you will own the end-to-end technical architecture of our Anaplan platform and its surrounding integration ecosystem. You will establish and maintain architectural standards across the full planning technology domain - spanning model design, data integrations, and platform governance - while serving as the primary technical authority for strategic decisions and project-level guidance. Your work directly enables scalable, reliable, and business-aligned connected planning capabilities across Edwards.

Platform Architecture & Governance

  • Define and maintain the enterprise-level Anaplan architecture, including model structure, sparsity management, module design, and Polaris/Classic engine strategy
  • Develop and enforce architectural standards, design patterns, and best practices across all Anaplan workspaces and models
  • Own the ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) framework, ensuring disciplined promotion of changes across DEV, UAT, and PROD environments
  • Maintain a design and metadata repository covering all established architectural models, data flows, and integration configurations
  • Provide oversight and compliance review across planning, execution, and operational phases of Anaplan initiatives

Integration Architecture

  • Architect and govern all Anaplan integration patterns, including CloudWorks-based automation, API-driven connections, and file-based data flows (CSV/TXT for automated pipelines; XLS/XLSX for governed manual uploads)
  • Define data flow specifications, interface contracts, and exception handling/monitoring standards for all inbound and outbound integrations (e.g., Workday HR data via AWS S3, ERP source systems
  • Lead the evaluation and selection of integration tooling and patterns (publish-subscribe, REST API design, scheduled CloudWorks actions) and ensure alignment with enterprise IT standard
  • Collaborate with IT, Security, and data owners to maintain integration reliability, auditability, and access controls including MINT security configuration

Data Architecture

  • Define data modeling standards within Anaplan, including hierarchy design, dimension management, and master data alignment with upstream source systems
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance practices are embedded across all Anaplan data flows
  • Partner with Data Management and Analytics teams to align Anaplan data structures with broader enterprise data architecture (data warehouse, data lake, MDM)
  • Drive improvements in data accuracy, consistency, and load performance across automated and manual upload processes

Technical Leadership & Advisory

  • Serve as the primary technical advisor on Anaplan-related decisions for project teams, business stakeholders, and implementation partners
  • Evaluate emerging Anaplan platform capabilities, third-party tools, and industry trends; translate findings into actionable architectural recommendations
  • Develop and deliver training, coaching, and knowledge transfer to Anaplan developers and functional team members
  • Lead architecture reviews and design sessions for new initiatives, ensuring alignment with established standards before project execution begins
  • Manage and mitigate architectural risk, including transition planning during key personnel changes (e.g., architect offboarding, partner transitions)

General & Administrative

  • Maintain up-to-date architecture documentation, including integration flow diagrams, RACI matrices, and configuration records
  • Support audit, compliance, and security review processes as they relate to the Anaplan platform and connected systems
  • Contribute to vendor relationship management and contract/SOW reviews where architectural scope is involved

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Natural Sciences & Mathematics or a related discipline
  • A minimum of ten years experience in IT
  • Architect role working with crossfunctional teams across IT and the business

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Proven experience delivering enterpriselevel, complex, or novel system implementations, including use cases in FP&A, Sales and Supply Chain - highly preferred
  • Certified Master Anaplanner (CMA) and/or Certified Anaplan Solution Architect (Professional) - highly preferred
  • Additional architecture or IT governance certifications such as TOGAF, COBIT, ITIL, OCP, CDMP, or similar - a strong plus
  • Experience with Anaplan ADO (Anaplan Data Orchestrator), Anaplan AI, and PlanIQ - highly preferred
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders
  • People leadership experience, including indirect leadership or matrix leadership, is highly preferred

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.
For California, the base pay range for this position is $139,000 - $196,000 (highly experienced).
The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience). Applications will be accepted while this position is posted on our Careers website.
