Quality Manager - Aerospace Manufacturing
Brownsboro, AL

Our clients specialize in precision manufacturing, machining, welding, coatings, and assembly of high-performance components for customers including NASA, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and the U.S. military.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and maintain the company's Quality Management System (QMS) (AS9100/ISO preferred)
  • Manage all inspection activities including CMM programming, operation, and data analysis
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and contractual quality requirements (DoD, NASA, primes)
  • Develop and implement quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans
  • Oversee internal audits, corrective actions (CAPA), and root cause analysis
  • Interface with customers on quality issues, audits, and corrective actions
  • Manage nonconformance reports (NCRs) and supplier quality issues
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve processes
  • Train and mentor quality and inspection staff
  • Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure manufacturability and quality standards

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in a quality leadership role in manufacturing (aerospace or defense preferred)
  • Strong hands-on experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programming and inspection
  • Experience with AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality standards
  • Knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
  • Experience with root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.)
  • Ability to manage audits and customer quality requirements
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ASQ Certification (CQE, CQM, etc.)
  • Experience working with prime contractors (Boeing, Lockheed Martin, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and quality software
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience
