STS Technical Services is hiring a Quality Manager in Brookfield, Wisconsin, to lead quality assurance, quality control and continuous improvement activities within a precision manufacturing environment.
This full-time, first-shift position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Quality Management System while ensuring products meet customer, regulatory and company requirements.
The ideal candidate will have extensive manufacturing quality leadership experience, strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards, and hands-on experience with quality tools, inspection processes and precision measuring equipment.
Position Overview
The Quality Manager oversees quality activities throughout the manufacturing process and promotes a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and customer focus.
This position works closely with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, suppliers and customers to maintain compliance, resolve quality concerns and support operational excellence.
Job Details

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Quality Management System Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the company's Quality Management System
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100 and other applicable standards
  • Ensure quality policies, procedures, work instructions and documentation remain current
  • Monitor compliance with customer specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support internal, customer and regulatory audits
  • Promote consistent quality practices throughout the organization

Quality Assurance and Inspection Responsibilities
  • Oversee incoming, in-process and final inspection activities
  • Establish inspection methods, sampling plans and acceptance criteria
  • Ensure inspection, measurement and testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained
  • Review and approve First Article Inspections
  • Review PPAP submissions and customer quality documentation as required
  • Ensure products meet customer and manufacturing requirements

Continuous Improvement Responsibilities
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action activities
  • Use quality tools including 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams and FMEA
  • Analyze quality metrics and identify process improvement opportunities
  • Lead scrap reduction, rework reduction and defect prevention initiatives
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement programs

Customer and Supplier Quality Responsibilities
  • Support customer quality concerns and audits
  • Assist with customer complaint investigations
  • Coordinate corrective actions related to customer concerns
  • Monitor supplier quality performance
  • Assist with supplier development activities
  • Collaborate with customers to resolve quality issues and improve satisfaction

Leadership Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor quality personnel
  • Provide quality training and guidance to employees
  • Establish performance goals
  • Conduct employee evaluations
  • Promote accountability, continuous improvement and customer focus throughout the organization

Reporting and Analysis Responsibilities
  • Track and report quality metrics
  • Monitor cost of quality, scrap, rework, customer returns and audit results
  • Prepare quality reports for management review meetings
  • Use statistical analysis and SPC techniques to monitor process capability and performance

Qualifications
  • At least seven years of management, supervisory or leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 or IATF 16949 quality standards
  • Comprehensive understanding of SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA and root cause analysis
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, GD&T and blueprint reading
  • Knowledge of manufacturing inspection requirements
  • Experience using CMMs, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges and optical comparators
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and quality software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and decision-making abilities

Preferred Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management or a related field
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
