Job description

Supplier Quality Manager

Company:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Manager to join our dynamic team in Tukwila, WA.

In this role, you will lead a dynamic team who supports our program customers resolving daily production issue originated from suppliers. You will also work with cross functional team to identify early quality engagement opportunity and flow appropriate requirements to ensure program success. You will be asked to support more than one program, therefore you must have strong organizational skill and follow through to ensure commitments are met.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing supplier quality activities to ensure that suppliers' production and quality systems, special processes, products and services meet purchase contract requirements and applicable regulatory agency and government regulations.
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies to improve supplier performance.
  • Provides education and coaching on the Quality System.
  • Acquires and manages resources and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports.
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees

Boeing First-Line Leader Assessment: To be considered for this position you will be required to complete an assessment as part of the selection process. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."
  • Experience leading key process, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience in collecting, interpreting data, and managing high level projects for management
  • 1+ years of experience working with Quality and/or Safety Corrective Action/Preventative Action, Root Cause Corrective Actions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience training and/or mentoring Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives
  • 1+ years of experience working with Non-Conformance (NCR) processes

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
