Job description

CLEAR is building THE secure identity company of the future. Our mission is to make experiences safer and easier-physically and digitally. With more than 43 million Members and a growing network of partners across the world, CLEAR's secure identity platform is transforming the way people live, work, and travel. Whether it's at the airport, stadium, or throughout your everyday life, CLEAR unlocks the magic of frictionless experiences.
We're hiring a Product Lead to lead the evolution of our identity and evidence platform powering both CLEAR Travel and CLEAR1. This role is responsible for evolving the systems that establish, maintain, and leverage high-integrity identity across consumer and enterprise experiences-enabling seamless, secure interactions wherever CLEAR operates.
What You'll Do:
Own the Identity Verification Platform
  • Lead the strategy and roadmap for CLEAR's identity and evidence platform across consumer (CLEAR+) and enterprise (CLEAR1) products
  • Build reusable proofing, verification, and evidence services that power all CLEAR surfaces (mobile, web, airport, partner integrations)

Advance Identity Assurance & Evidence Systems
  • Expand and optimize source verification to improve assurance, reduce cost, and increase coverage
  • Define how identity is established (proofing) vs. continuously evaluated (signals), and evolve both layers over time
  • Drive alignment with National Institute of Standards and Technology frameworks (e.g., IAL2/IAL3) while maintaining flexibility for real-world use cases

Build a Scalable, Reusable Identity Layer
  • Decouple identity from individual products-ensuring identity can be created once and leveraged across multiple experiences and relying parties
  • Develop systems for evidence storage, re-use, and auditability to support network-level advantages
  • Ensure interoperability with emerging standards (e.g., mDoc / ISO 18013-7)

Optimize Cost, Performance, and Resiliency
  • Drive down cost per proofing/verification through orchestration, vendor strategy, and intelligent fallback systems
  • Improve success rates and reduce false negatives/positives across all identity flows
  • Build resiliency into critical identity services to support high-scale, real-time environments

Own Data Integrity, Observability, and Compliance
  • Treat data integrity and traceability as first-class requirements across all identity systems
  • Build reporting, alerting, and audit tooling across all assurance layers and dependencies
  • Ensure systems are proactively compliant with regulatory and audit requirements-not reactive

Drive Cross-Platform Experiences
  • Ensure seamless interoperability between airport, mobile, web, and partner experiences
  • Identify and eliminate friction across enrollment, verification, account management, and recovery flows
  • Enable new identity-powered experiences across CLEAR+ and CLEAR1 ecosystems

Lead Cross-Functional Execution
  • Partner with engineering, design, operations, legal/compliance, and external partners
  • Translate complex identity and regulatory requirements into clear product direction
  • Drive alignment across teams and hold stakeholders accountable to outcomes

Operate as a Domain Leader
  • Serve as an internal expert on identity, proofing, and verification
  • Stay ahead of industry trends (fraud, deepfakes, synthetic identity, standards evolution)
  • Continuously identify opportunities to strengthen CLEAR's identity moat

What you're great at:
  • 8+ years of product management experience, preferably in identity, fintech, security, or highly regulated environments
  • Strong technical fluency across backend systems, APIs, and distributed architectures
  • Deep understanding of identity proofing, authentication, and fraud systems (e.g., document verification, biometrics, device intelligence, data corroboration)
  • Familiarity with standards such as NIST 800-63 or equivalent assurance frameworks
  • Exceptional analytical skills-ability to decompose ambiguity and identify root causes quickly
  • Proven ability to define and execute multi-quarter strategies across complex systems
  • Strong grasp of cost structures and ability to drive meaningful efficiency improvements
  • Relentless focus on measurement-defines success through clear metrics and outcomes
  • Ability to balance customer experience, security, compliance, and business goals
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in a highly cross-functional environment
  • High ownership mentality-operates with urgency, accountability, and attention to detail

How You'll be Rewarded:

Our offices are bright and energetic with an open concept and plenty of conference rooms and casual co-working spaces. We also offer catered lunches every day and have fully stocked kitchens.
