Position: Technical Project / Program Manager

My client is an innovative American automotive manufacturer focused on redefining affordable electric mobility. They are developing a new generation of purpose-built electric vehicles with an emphasis on simplicity, modular design, and customer customisation.

Our client is looking for a Technical Project / Program Manager to join their expanding team on a Contract basis. The role will be based in Phoenix, AZ.

Position Summary: Essential Criteria:
  • The main function of a Technical Project/Program Manager is to oversee the application of project management methodology during all phases of the project cycle, with responsibilities including project design, scope management, cost control, quality and performance reporting.
  • The Factory Systems team serves as the Project Management Office (PMO) for Factory Applications within SAP. The team oversees applications such as Rockwell MES and PMO 3DX, managing project portfolios, application backlogs, and enterprise-wide initiatives across all factory locations. They are responsible for driving strategic, high-impact projects and ensuring alignment between business and technology objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Develops, tracks and manages project budget, project plans, timelines and scope
  • Manage project resources including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching and advising Partner closely with other members of functional project teams to define business requirements
  • Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs
  • Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing Facilitate the User Acceptance
  • Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures
  • Prepare and present cost-benefit analysesEnsure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized
  • Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and the implementation of new capabilities within the SAP ecosystem.
  • Lead logistics-focused projects and process enhancements, partnering closely with logistics stakeholders to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Manage and coordinate complex application development and integration efforts across factory systems.
    Leverage a strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to support project delivery and system enhancements.
  • Apply technical knowledge to evaluate solutions, facilitate integrations, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science
  • PMP or PMI certification 2-4 years experience
  • Proven project management experience
  • People management and team building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities
  • Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization
  • Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions
  • Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment
Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience
  • Minimum 5 yearsโ€™ experience with Jira
  • Minimum 5 yearsโ€™ experience with MSFT365 - Excel specifically
  • Minimum 5 yearsโ€™ experience with SAP
