To thrive as a Technical Project Program Manager, you need strong project management skills, technical acumen, and experience with methodologies like Agile or Waterfall, often supported by a relevant degree and certifications such as PMP or Scrum Master. Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project) and enterprise systems is typically required. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills help navigate cross-functional teams and complex projects. These competencies are crucial for delivering projects on time, aligning technical solutions with business goals, and driving organizational success.

How does a Technical Project Program Manager typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during a project lifecycle?

Technical Project Program Managers often act as a bridge between engineering, product, design, and business teams. Job description

Calling your doctor shouldn't be harder than seeing your doctor. But at most practices, patients wait on hold, front-office staff drown in ring queues, and revenue walks out the door with every missed call.
Transform9 builds AI agents that answer every call for physician practices - scheduling appointments, routing callers, and resolving routine requests in seconds, around the clock. Our agents integrate directly with each practice's EHR, practice management, and phone systems, and adapt to how their front office actually works.
Our agents have handled millions of patient calls for thousands of providers, cut average hold times by 90%, and decreased call abandonment by 80%. We're headquartered in Birmingham, AL, and growing fast.
About the role
Transform9 ships AI voice agents into live healthcare environments where coordination across engineering, product, integrations, and customer success determines whether a launch succeeds. As Technical Project Manager, you'll drive cross-functional delivery - turning roadmaps into sequenced, dependency-aware plans, keeping technical and customer-facing teams aligned, and making sure complex, multi-team initiatives land on time and to spec.
What you'll do
  • Own end-to-end delivery of cross-functional technical projects - from kickoff through launch and post-launch review
  • Build and maintain project plans, timelines, and dependency maps across engineering, product, integrations, and customer success
  • Run planning, standups, and retrospectives; keep teams unblocked and accountable to commitments
  • Translate product and technical requirements into clear scope, milestones, and acceptance criteria
  • Identify risks and surface tradeoffs early; drive decisions that keep projects on schedule
  • Coordinate platform launches and new practice onboardings against measurable readiness criteria
  • Communicate status, risks, and timelines clearly to engineering leadership and stakeholders
  • Improve delivery processes, tooling, and documentation as the team scales

Location
Remote (US). If you're in the Birmingham, AL area, this role is hybrid from our office (3 days in office / 2 remote).
Requirements
  • 5+ years in technical project or program management, ideally in software or SaaS
  • Track record delivering complex, multi-team technical projects on time and to spec
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile practices
  • Ability to read technical requirements and hold credible conversations with engineers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to align stakeholders across functions
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to dependencies, risk, and detail
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment

Nice to have
  • Experience in healthcare technology, HIPAA-regulated, or other compliance-heavy environments
  • Familiarity with voice/telephony, LLM, or conversational AI products
  • PMP, CSM, or equivalent certification
  • Experience with project tooling (Jira, Linear, Asana, or equivalent)

Benefits
  • Top-tier health coverage: medical, dental & vision
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off + holidays, and paid parental leave

If you want to fix the front door of healthcare, we'd love to hear from you.
