Control Technologies, Inc. (CTI) is one of the largest and independent building systems integrators in the northeast, serving both New England and New York city.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for field supervision to meet the job plans and specifications while preserving or improving our estimated gross margins. Perform Project Management for the job from beginning to end and be the primary contact for any issues or needs from our customer, engineers and employees for a timely and total system success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Act as the primary contact for all job-related issues during construction and through the warranty period and be required to find the best solution to any issue based on total job knowledge and limits of the estimate/budget.
  • Communicate promptly with customers, contractors and employees. Follow up on all details of multiple projects.
  • Read and understand specifications and construction blueprint drawings for use in digital, pneumatic, and electric control systems
  • Manage the field installation and project coordination of many projects at the same time.
  • Provide leadership to field installers to improve competency and independence.
  • This position will recognize change order opportunities and issues in the field and drawings and alert the General Contractor, Sub-Contractors & Consulting Engineers for request of change.
  • This position will gather all information for proposed change orders and submit information to sales/estimating team for pricing, and then submit pricing to the appropriate person and follow-up to award and book.
  • This position will conduct field visits to the project site on a regular basis to keep familiar with the project and provide any support the Area Supervisor and/or Field Technicians may need. As part of the project management duties will be required to attend on-site job meetings to represent CTI to discuss any and all matters pertaining to the project.
  • Stay up to date with all field safety issues and ensure the information gets out to the field people as required.
  • Ensure that customer satisfaction is always 100%.
  • Meet with the Division Manager on a weekly basis for project management issues, design issues, contractors' issues, job cost review, standardization issues, training and safety requirements and any job and non-job issues that you may have.
  • Work closely with teams on manpower requests and create weekly work schedules for the field installers.
  • Interact with customers and contractors on a daily basis.
  • Attend in-house and other scheduled training for learning of new technology and standards for better and more efficient design.
  • Provide the Operations Team with ideas for standardization and strive for more efficient designs.
  • Responsible for weekly job costing and other project financials for assigned projects.

The team member will work in a smoke-free office environment in close proximity to other employees. Travel to job sites is periodically required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • A qualified candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree, or a related Engineering Field, preferably Mechanical or Electrical fields. In lieu of a college degree, minimum of (5) years of field experience will be acceptable.
  • Candidate must have HVAC and/or Industrial system knowledge. Candidate must have an understanding on the operation of boilers, chillers, air-handling units, constant vs. variable volume systems, and the knowledge of other HVAC equipment and their use.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, both verbal and technical writing.
  • Must be able to work alone or in a team oriented environment.
  • Must have experience with managing people and managing project financial budgets.
  • Must be able to take aggressive criticism and have the ability to prioritize and deal with many emergencies at once. A positive attitude and level headed approach towards everything is a must.
