Job description

Technical Project Manager โ€“ Mainframe

Fully remote. Direct hire. $180,000 โ€“ $208,000.

Join a niche, high growth technology consulting firm, a Partner of the Year award winner with NetApp, Dell, and Nutanix, backed by double digit year over year growth and real stability in a market where that is increasingly rare. We are hiring a seasoned Technical Project Manager to lead complex, enterprise scale mainframe programs.

What You Bring

  • 12+ years of experience managing and leading complex mainframe projects, understanding mainframe concepts and terminology well enough to direct the work rather than perform it hands on
  • Active mainframe certification
  • Working knowledge of GDPS, having managed projects where it was involved, common across mainframe programs, rather than hands on GDPS execution
  • Strong project execution and delivery management experience across Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid models
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, align cross functional and dependent teams, and drive complex, multi team outcomes to successful delivery
  • Strong executive communication skills, with the ability to represent your team's work credibly to stakeholders several levels up

What You Will Do

  • Manage and oversee complex mainframe projects end to end, applying Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid delivery models, and facilitate key decisions with a strong working understanding of mainframe concepts
  • Organize and accelerate related technology projects across multiple teams, align dependent organizations, remove blockers, and find the path forward in ambiguous situations
  • Build reporting mechanisms that control execution and create predictable delivery paths for large, complex efforts
  • Drive outcomes from inception through delivery across the full stack of services and domains, or across multiple teams and integrations enterprise wide
  • Serve as the first point of contact and source of truth for project status
  • Evaluate designs against scalability, latency, security, performance, and data integrity, staying current with the evolving technology landscape
  • Communicate with confidence to stakeholders several levels up, and work directly with external technology providers on implementation plans and roadmaps
  • Understand the needs of engineering and technical operations teams, and proactively track metrics to keep your program aligned with organizational objectives

Benefits

Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plan, and paid time off. Full details available upon request.
