Overview

TRC is seeking an experienced Technology Project Manager to support the delivery of digital platforms and client solutions for our Advanced Energy programs in the utility industry. The ideal candidate has a strong background in agile methodologies and a proven track record of delivering IT projects from planning through release and maintenance.

This role blends traditional project management with Agile product delivery. The ideal candidate is comfortable coordinating client-facing initiatives while also facilitating Scrum-based development teams to deliver iterative improvements to internal technology platforms. You will work closely with Development, Operations, and Product Management teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively, while providing exceptional service to external clients and positioning the Advanced Energy Technology team as a trusted implementation partner to internal stakeholders.

You will support the transition from project-based delivery to product-oriented development by helping teams prioritize work, monitoring backlogs, managing budgets, resources, and risks, and delivering incremental value through regular software releases.

Responsibilities
  • Lead agile project teams using Scrum methodology to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle, from planning and development to implementation and releases for multiple programs and products.
  • Create and maintain project plans, work plans, and release schedules for agile software projects.
  • Organize and facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and other Scrum ceremonies.
  • Drive the flow of work, remove impediments, monitor team velocity, and ensure release readiness.
  • Collaborate with Product Owner(s) and development teams to understand impacts on capacity, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Proactively maintain well-defined backlogs to identify and resolve any requirements, resource, or infrastructure gaps to ensure upcoming work is clearly defined and ready for execution prior to the start of each sprint.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, presentations, and technical insights.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, implementing control processes for scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Monitor project milestones and progress, taking corrective action as needed to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Remove blockers across teams to maintain productivity.
  • Coordinate and ensure completion of all deliverables for software releases.
  • Maintain a high standard of professional conduct and leadership, setting a positive example.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in computer/technology-related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in software development or technology delivery environments.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in technical project management including experience in an Agile environment
  • Proven experience managing technology projects, preferably in the utility or technology sectors.
  • Solid understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with hands-on Scrum Master experience.
  • Strong skills in project planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ability to coordinate delivery across multiple initiatives, teams, and client programs simultaneously.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional client service and building trusted partnerships with internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools, including MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA, Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Professional certifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP) and Agile methodologies (e.g., CSM, Safe).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM.
  • Experience delivering SaaS platforms, enterprise applications, or multi-tenant systems.
  • Experience in the utility industry or related fields.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments with competing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across teams.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation:Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
