Responsibilities

What you'll do

  • Manages multiple construction projects related to improvements within KC Waters infrastructure.
  • Inspects construction sites to monitor progress and ensures conformance to engineering plans, specifications, construction, and safety standards.
  • Assists in various aspects of project management processes for multiple projects related to improvements to potable water distribution infrastructure and treatment facilities.
  • Interprets and applies engineering technical specifications, city ordinances, state and federal regulations, and related standards to projects.
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, hydrological characteristics, and geologic data to plan and inspect projects.
  • Prepares or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for projects.
  • Assists in preparing bidding documents, and memos, for construction projects.
  • Verifies conformance of the plans and specifications prepared by design professionals.
  • Submits Project Status (PSRs) on the progress of projects.
  • Reviews submittals for materials used and related data.
  • Responds to complaints and provides general guidance on projects.
  • Performs analysis and prepares reports for the Engineering Division.
Qualifications

REQUIRES:

  • An accredited Bachelors degree in business administration, public administration, project management, construction management, engineering technology, construction engineering technology, engineering, city planning, landscape architecture, or architecture and 4 years professional experience in project management or project management related work.
  • OR an accredited Masters degree in business administration, public administration, project management, construction management, engineering technology, construction engineering technology, engineering, city planning, landscape architecture, or architecture and 2 years professional experience in project management or project management related work.
  • OR a certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and 4 years as a PMP working in project management or project management related work.
  • May be required to pass a preemployment drug screen.
  • May be required to possess a valid State -issued drivers license in accordance with the City of KCMO policies.
