THE DEPARTMENT:
The Information Technology Department is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of a secure technology infrastructure to support the Product, People, Promotion, Place and Profit areas of Helzberg Diamonds. It accomplishes this through the design, development and deployment of automated systems to meet the information and process needs of each major line of business: human resources, merchandise, marketing, finance, stores, and E-Commerce. In addition to these lines of business applications, the IT organization is responsible for the collection and correlation of all company electronic information assets into an enterprise Data Warehouse which is used to support the overall analytical and reporting information needs of the business.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, coordinating, and delivering complex technology initiatives across Helzberg Diamonds' IT portfolio. This role serves as the connective tissue between business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners to ensure high-quality features are delivered on time and provide clear business value. The ideal candidate brings strong project management discipline, a solid technical foundation, and the ability to manage ambiguity across enterprise systems, integrations, and digital initiatives.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Project Delivery & Execution
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of technology projects across corporate systems, data platforms, digital commerce, and integrations.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource forecasts.
  • Manage project scope, risks, dependencies, and facilitate change throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in alignment with Helzberg Diamonds' IT standards and business objectives.
Technical & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with engineering, data, corporate systems, infrastructure, and security teams to coordinate technical delivery.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable project plans and ensure shared understanding across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Empower technical teams by removing blockers, clarifying priorities, and facilitating decision-making.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing clear communication on status, risks, and milestones.
  • Coordinate work with third-party vendors and system integrators, including scope alignment and delivery tracking.
  • Facilitate steering committee updates and executive-level communications as needed.
Governance, Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain project documentation including charters, schedules, RAID logs, status reports, and action items.
  • Support IT governance processes including intake, prioritization, and financial tracking.
  • Partner with Finance and IT leadership to track project-related expenses and vendor costs.

Change Management & Adoption
  • Support organizational change management activities to ensure successful adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Serve as a change leader by coaching teams, influencing new and effective ways of working, and reinforcing behaviors that support sustained success and organizational maturity.
  • Coordinate testing, cutover planning, training, and go-live activities.
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and applied to future initiatives.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent does not have any direct reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience managing technology projects in an enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects involving software development, system integrations, or enterprise platforms.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, hybrid, or waterfall).
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing projects involving ERP, data platforms, eCommerce, or retail systems.
  • Familiarity with vendor-led implementations and SOW-based delivery models.
  • Project management certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent).
  • Experience working in a hybrid work environment with geographically distributed teams.
  • Comfort working across multiple concurrent initiatives with competing priorities.

Work Schedule:
Hybrid schedule with predictable onsite attendance required three or more days per week to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co-workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external customers.
