Job description

Mirion Technologies (Canberra), Inc. is in search of a Technical Project Manager able to execute projects that involve the design and assembly of complex systems and solutions for detection, measurement, and identification of radioactive materials, while focusing on the aspects of Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery. Position responsibilities include but are not limited to customer/stakeholder relations, planning, organization, and management of scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, communications and risk, with a drive of balancing all demands to for optimal company results. Provide appropriate updates and assessment summaries to upper-level management to ensure early/effective interventions occur if required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Manage and drive client projects, following established project management processes.
  • Typically, would run and own several complex projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to S, Q, C, D and customer objectives.
  • Strong teamwork, collaborating in person with various disciplines among the team (Proposal Managers, Engineering, Physics and other technical resources, Product Managers, Sales,) for support and project task updates needed to meet objectives.
  • Organize and hold regular project team meetings, recording action plans and task owners, and driving them to completion.
  • Clearly communicate on-going project progress through presentations and reports.
  • Manage customer/stakeholder relationships and maintain strong communication while providing regular updates on projects.
  • Engagement and participation in Factory Acceptance Test with customers when needed.
  • Run project risk sessions and record results in Risk registers, and follow-up on actions.
  • Provide accurate financial forecasts for all projects with improvement plans to recover any margin deterioration.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor of Science in technical or Engineering/Sciences with strong project management skills, OR Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a strong technical background.
  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Sense of ownership and commitment to meeting customer needs.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong teamwork, collaboration.
  • Ability to understand, manage, and analyze financial information related to the projects (costs, margins, cash flow, payment milestones, risk analysis, etc).
  • Ability to travel occasionally domestically and/or internationally for projects if needed.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
  • Project Management Institute PMPยฎ or CAPMยฎ Certification.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/MRP systems.
  • Experience working within a technical environment.
  • Understanding of design, procurement, and/or manufacturing processes.
  • Experience executing U.S. Government funded technical projects.
  • Knowledge of the U.S. Federal Acquisition Register (FAR) for execution of U.S. Government funded technical projects.
